SINNER’S BLOOD were put together at the end of the ‘10s by the powerful singer James Robledo (ex-Renegade) – a true deadringer for the greatest vocalists of this age, from Jorn Lande to Russell Allen – and producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Nasson (Chaos Magic). They had both amassed a vast experience collaborating with several world renowned artists and decided it was time to create their own “metal machine”.
Drawing influences from Symphony X to early Masterplan, the band managed to create a truly fresh and exciting debut four years ago, and are now ready to present their sophomore album “Dark Horizons” via Frontiers Music.
Throughout 11 well crafted songs SINNER’S BLOOD delivers a massive and contemporary approach to melodic metal with interesting yet accessible arrangements and of course the outstanding vocals from James Robledo.
By incorporating the heavy from heavy metal on tracks like ‘Firestorm’ and ‘Poison’; the power from power metal (‘Not Enough’ and ‘Victim Of The Will’) and the melodic from melodic metal (‘Enemy and The Man’, ‘The Burden’, ‘The Sea’), Nasson has solidified a unique production style.
You can almost feel the constant seismic rumble of opener ‘Bound’ even before the music begins. The more immediate ‘A Voice Within’, a well defined acoustic ballad, steps outside the circle. A perfectly placed ray of sunshine, lighting up the darkness created by the surrounding tracks.
A mixture of all of the band’s favorites with a touch of modern vertigo, every song Nasson wrote for this album is a different beast. And with James’s voice, they are truly brought to life. With lyrics that are honest, emotional and superb production, SINNER’S BLOOD has presented a really powerful collection of songs on “Dark Horizons”.
