Local legends on Long Island, N.Y., the GOOD RATS seemed poised to break big in the early to mid-1970s. The band played Madison Square Garden, Nassau Coliseum, the Philadelphia Spectrum and England’s Hammersmith Odeon on bills with Rush, Journey, Kiss, Meat Loaf, Aerosmith and Ozzy Osborne, while FM radio embraced the Good Rats, as well.
The reason for the band’s lack of long-term success is debatable, but the quality of its songs is not, a hard rock act that elegantly mixed-in blues, funk, with strong musical fundamentals, and a powerful vocalist and sophisticated songwriter, Peppi Marchello.

GOOD RATS continued active in the 80s and 90s, recording this album in 1996 released by themselves, and later reissued by Frontiers Music with a new title; “Cover Of Night“. The record features as guest renowned former GOOD RATS members; guitarist Bruce Kulick, drummer Joe Franco (Twisted Sister), drummer John Miceli (Meat Loaf), plus David Rosenthal (Rainbow, Red Dawn) on keyboards, and more.
Pretty unknown for many, “Cover Of Night” delivers classic hard rock with many twists, old-fashioned rock n’ roll but with modern production and Marchello’s classy voice. A record that will please fans of the old and the new > timeless stuff!

para mi es un hard rock o mejor dicho un hair metal con sabor a hard rock, muy de la época, no es expectacular, pero muy agradable, un cd que se puede tener.
