REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE – New Era [Japanese Edition +1] *HQ* Out Of Print

Talented Finnish musician Timo Tolkki (Stratovarius, Revolution Renaissance, Avalon) will release a new solo album soon, and it’s proper to feature his super group REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE album ”New Era”, originally released by Frontiers Music and King Record Co. in Japan including a bonus track.
The group features impressive vocalists: Michael Kiske (Helloween, Place Vendome) an the majority of the songs, Tobias Sammet (Avantasia), and Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone) plus talented musicians – Tolkki play guitar and produced.
While the hearkening back to older Stratovarius days are definitely on full display, things definitely pull equally if not more so in an Avantasia direction whenever Kiske or Sammet takes the lead. This is edgy melodic hard rock with a touch of metal, catchy choruses and hooks.
The music sometimes takes on a nature not all that far off from Black Sabbath’s “Tyr”, though a bit more flowery and keyboard oriented – no epic feel, just catchiness. Some songs are really awesome.
