ELECTRIC BOYS – Ups!de Down (2021)

Ups!de Down“, the seventh album Swedish favorites ELECTRIC BOYS is a classic hard rock affair with the band’s characteristic funk elements, tons of groove and a lot of passion. Timeless rocking music with quite some uniqueness in its sound.
Single “Super God“ is a winner, and also musically (and lyric-wise slightly obscure) “Never Again Your Slave“ is a real cracker. And you got to have balls to start such an album with an instrumental (the title track).
One of the few bands out there that really stick out and never fail to deliver the goods…

ELECTRIC BOYS – Funk-o-Metal Carpet Ride [Digipak remastered reissue +8 incl. Bob Rock sessions]

Some time ago we featured here the remastered version of Swedish melodic hard rockers ELECTRIC BOYS second album. Now it has been requested their other albums which really worth a place into your collection. “Funk-o-Metal Carpet Ride” is their full length debut album from 1989 – what a year – and for sure these guys brought something different to the table.
This remastered reissue not only sound better and with more definition, it also includes as bonus many songs from the same sessions produced by talented Bob Rock, with same songwriting / production quality.
Despite what its title implies, ”Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride” isn’t funk/metal in a Red Hot Chili Peppers-like fashion — rather, the melodic yet aggressive band had more in common with Aerosmith’s intense boogie.

This rocking album remained out of print for many years and thanks to an association between Universal Music, Sweden Rock Magazine and the band it was remastered and expanded with 5 bonus tracks. Sweden’s Electric Boys were one of the first and...
