FIGHTER – The Fighter Demos [Previously Unreleased Digitally Remastered] (2019) *Exclusive*

Led by talented vocalist and principal songwriter Amy Wolter, a female singer which already had worked in the music business as back-up vocalist and advertising singles performer, FIGHTER was formed in the ’80s with his bro Jim to create arena style melodic hard rock / AOR music plenty of hooks and melodies galore. While in their origins considered part of the CCM scene, the focus with FIGHTER was to reach the Rock mainstream audience as well.
The band recorded several demos in the second half of the Eighties – one of these sold at their shows, which was added as bonus tracks on the reissue of FIGHTER’s first album 1991’s ‘The Waiting’ featured at 0dayrox yesterday.
Girder Records has also put together the band’s original demos for Wonderland Records (a short-lived sub-label of Christian label Word from the early 1990s) who released FIGHTER’s debut CD.
These tracks on “The Fighter Demos” have been remastered from the original reels, all professionally recorded pre-production tapes and the sound quality is very good. Some are unreleased, some ended on the first album with different lyrics and arrangements – all rock greatly, catchy, with AOR melodies…

FIGHTER – Bang The Drum +3 unreleased [Digitally Remastered] *HQ* Exclusive

Some time ago we featured here the first FIGHTER album ‘The Waiting’ in its remastered reissue version, now it’s time for the band’s second CD, 1992’s “Bang The Drum” including 3 previously unreleased tracks.
Led by talented vocalist and principal songwriter Amy Wolter FIGHTER played arena style melodic hard rock / AOR plenty of hooks and melodies galore. The distinctive element in FIGHTER’s style was the trade-off vocals between Wolter and male singer & drummer Sean Murphy. Dual vocals proved to work great for them and provided dynamics not seen in other bands of this ilk.
“Bang The Drum” is slightly more melodic hard rock than AOR compared with Fighter’s debut, more crisp in the guitar sound.
When the CD hit the shelves in 1992 rock business in America was changing, but Fighter didn’t changed their musical style in favor to the trend of the moment. This is one of the last female fronted melodic hard rock albums released in the USA at the time, and a very good one…

Fans of classy female fronted AOR already know this album: AMY WOLTER‘s “Hit Me In The Heart“. Long time out of print, now it has been reissued with a pristine, remastered sound.
Originally released in 1994 this album was overlooked by the big audience due the musical trend of those dark years for melodic rock music. Amy was co-lead singer for melodic rock band FIGHTER, a woman with a voice often compared to Pat Benatar, but more powerful.
