LOST SYMPHONY [feat Marty Friedman, Nuno Bettencourt, Jimi Bell] – Chapter III (2021)

LOST SYMPHONY, founded by multi-instrumentalist and producer Benny Goodman, includes the ensemble of Goodman’s brother Brian who helms compositions / arrangement, and members Cory Paza (on bass, guitar), Kelly Kereliuk (guitar), Paul Lourenco (drums) and Siobhán Cronin (violin, viola, electric violin).
This band has been pretty active since formed three years ago having released two albums already, and now presenting “Chapter III“, a quite original blend of Progressive, Melodic, Symphonic Metal and more.
The good thing about Goodman & Co is their love for electric guitar, metal / hard rock electric guitar. And LOST SYMPHONY recruits a formidable set of virtuosos such as Marty Friedman, EXTREME’s Nuno Bettencourt, HOUSE OF LORD’s Jimi Bell, TESTAMENT / SAVATAGE Alex Skolnick, and more.

MARTY FRIEDMAN – Tokyo Jukebox 3 (2020)

Uber talented guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN will release tomorrow in Japan his new solo album, “Tokyo Jukebox 3“. After almost ten years the previous volume of this series, the CD features Marty’s cover versions of a wide variety of Japanese pop songs, including such contemporary numbers as LiSA’s “Gurenge” and OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM’s “Shukumei”, along with DA PUMP’s dance track “U.S.A.”, etc.
Some throwback J-pop hits from the ’90s are included on the set as well, such as ZARD’s “Makenaide” and EVERY LITTLE THING’s “Time Goes By”.
Of course, all dome with Friedman’s hard rockin’, melodic attack.
There’s also a couple of Friedman originals, one with vocals courtesy of Japanese singer Arufakyun, a killer metallic tune.

Megadeth became one of the leading bands from the metal scene since the mid-’80s. Each album the band released went at least gold, and they continually sold out arenas world wide. By the early ’90s, they had toned their music down slightly, yet that simply increased their following; all of their proper ’90s albums debuted in the Top Ten.
