PAOLO MORBINI PROJECT AOR – “2017” [Japan Edition] *0dayrox Exclusive*

Paolo Morbini is a well known name from the Italian Rock scene. He is one of the founder members of MYLAND in 2005, a band with with 4 albums under their belt and with participations of the caliber of Kee Marcello (Europe), Fergie Frederiksen (Toto) and other stars from the Swedish Melodic Hard Rock scene, all records very well received by the AOR / Melodic Rock community.
While working on MYLAND’s next album and with the band suffering of constant line-up changes, Morbini decided to switch the name and the PAOLO MORBINI PROJECT AOR born.
Only released in Japan by the now defunct AnderStein Music label, “2017” is the title of the PMP debut CD, packing the same MYLAND classic Melodic Rock / AOR hooks plus a pinch of lite, proggy AOR touch, and with the likes of Tommy Denander contributing.
You are inevitably taking back to the ’80s with the radiant opener “Life Is Like A Highway”, the dynamic “Don’t Give Up Don’t Give In”, or the captivating “Don’t Stop The Music”.

MYLAND – The Time Is Over (2005-2006) *0dayrox Exclusive*

As requested, here’s Italian melodic rockers MYLAND debut album “The Time Is Over“, released 2005 and re-released 2006 with new cover art. MYLAND is the brainchild of drummer, keyboardist and songwriter Paolo Morbini, co-funded with singer Guido Priori, both sharing an unabashedly love for JOURNEY, Steve Perry era. And as you could guess, their debut album follows that same arena rock/AOR blueprint.
MyLand is the type of overblown over-the-top melodic rock / AOR that ruled the airwaves in the ’80s, the type of music that depleted everyone’s lighter fluid at the local arena show.
”The Time Is Over” is filled with impressive riff after impressive riff and the vocals are thoughtful and soaring…

MYLAND – No Man’s Land (2008) HQ

As requested, here’s Italian melodic rockers MYLAND second album “No Man’s Land“, not so easy to find. To echo the sentiment and the shot heard round the world ‘Journey’… Journey who? These words are escaping the mouths of many an AOR / Melodic Rock enthusiast across the nations just after hearing the opening track “Anytime” from Myland‘s sophomore release ”No Man’s Land”.
Now I am referring to the classic, harder rocking Journey we all know and love, but with musicianship and production that is very current, yet with all the right touches to take you back to the glory days of the genre.
Myland is certainly spreading their wings and showing their stuff here. The musicianship is top shelf with lead guitar work that would make the likes of George Lynch, Ronnie Le Tekro and Neal Schon applaud…

MYLAND – Tales From The Inner Planet (2015)

Italian AOR / Melodic Hard Rockers MYLAND is a curious band. The group made a sizeable impact on the European scene with three excellent albums plenty of tasty guitar work, big keyboards and terrific choruses, then decided to go indie and release this, their 4th effort “Tales From The Inner Planet” by themselves in 2013.
The big problem was that the album only was available on physical CD via Myland’s website, ordered by e-mail. There was not major distribution, nor digital download. This turned the CD almost impossible to get due its limited quantities.
Then Myland made available a second press with an extra track, and now another one but again not easy to purchase.
Obviously, the band are not the kings of marketing, and it’s a real shame, because “Tales From The Inner Planet” is one of the best AOR / Melodic Hard Rock albums I heard in recent years and deserve to be listened by all fans of the genre.

MYLAND – Light Of A New Day [Japan Edition +1] (2011)

Another request, and this is a really to find one: MYLAND‘s third album “Light Of A New Day” in its Japanese Edition, with different artwork and which bonus track is the title track, curiously not present on the regular European release.
For this second album, the Italy, Milan based Melodic Rock band has undergone several lineup changes, with only founding member drummer Paolo Morbini and guitarist Hox Martino remaining from the original.
New singer Franco Campanella is pretty different from the previous Steve Perry-influenced Guido Priori. His vocals has a more gravely, raspy style. If fact, Myland has changed their style a bit here. The lush, melodic guitars from their debut CD now are more balanced with power chords and harder edged solos.
But what has remained untouched are the layered vocal harmonies, the keyboard runs and the outstanding punchy drums of band founder Paul Morbini…

MYLAND – Light Of A New Day (2011)
