STARMEN – By The Grace Of Rock ‘n’ Roll (2021)

In February 2020, STARMEN released their debut album, and followed up with a second effort in July. Yes, two LP’s the same year, a rarity nowadays. That happened in the Seventies, when recording labels asked bands for new material after few months. As example, KISS released their first two albums the same year. We mention KISS because STARMEN are pretty influenced by the legendary act.
Now the band is set to release their third album: “By the Grace of Rock’n’Roll”, plenty of 80s-inspired anthems. This is the kind of albums four decades ago you purchased just looking at the cover artwork…

STARMEN – Welcome To My World (reissue 2020)

Swedish melodic rockers STARMEN have been signed by Melodic Passion Records, and alongside their album Kiss The Sky they are reissuing 2020 the previous “Welcome To My World“. Starmen is formed by well known names from the Scandinavian Melodic Hard Rock scene, and of course, is inspired by the ’80s sound of the genre.
“Welcome To My World” not only includes very good songs rooted in the classic Scandi sound, but also stupendous musicianship and a very good, bright production.
‘Dreaming’, the catchy ‘Freewheelin’, the anthems ‘Ready to give me your love’ and ‘Stay the night’ are among the highlights, mixing various influences like Jeff Scott Soto’s Talisman, Dalton, Def Leppard, ’80s Kiss, some Whitesnake, and The Poodles.

STARMEN – Kiss The Sky (2020)

And here we have a ‘mysterious’ band from Sweden; STARMEN, and their new album “Kiss The Sky“. This is one of these groups where band members are featured under fictitious names, and all behind a mask – in this case, different color stars – in an obvious KISS homage.
The ‘Starmen’ play classic melodic rock – with 80s inspiration of course – mixed with AOR elements and fans of Def Leppard, Fair Warning, Eclipse, Whitesnake, Gotthard will love them.
The main man here is Kristian Hermanson, a vocalist / songwriter who during the 90s was part of obscure (and good) AORsters Cleaopatra, and did lead vocals at the early stages of The Poodles.
