WAYSTED Save Your Prayers +3 [Cherry Red / Hear No Evil remaster]

With the just released WAYSTED box-set some of you asked for the also Cherry Red Records / Hear No Evil remastered release of the band’s more Melodic Hard Rock oriented album, the pretty awesome “Save Your Prayers“, including as bonus tracks 3 hard to find singles for the first time on CD.
Pete Way was the original bass guitarist and founder member of British hard rockers UFO. In 1982, after making 10 studio LPs with them, Pete left, initially to play bass with Ozzy Osbourne as well as briefly forming Fastway with Motorhead’s Fast Eddie Clarke.
Then in 1983 he formed Waysted. After releasing their debut album ‘Vices’ in 1983 on Chrysalis, before switching to Music For Nations for the release of ‘Waysted’ (1984) and ‘The Good The Bad And The Waysted’ (1985), the band signed to EMI / Parlophone label in 1985 for this “Save Your Prayers“ LP.
It was the mid-Eighties and the recording label wanted a more commercial, catchy musical approach according to times to appeal the US market…

WAYSTED – Heroes Die Young; Waysted Volume Two 2000-2007 [5-CD Clamshell Box] (2022)

Hear No Evil / Cherry Red Records are releasing “Heroes Die Young; Waysted Volume Two 2000-2007“, a 5-CD Clamshell Box including albums / recordings of reformed WAYSTED from the early 2000s.
Bass player Pete Way quit UFO following the 1982 ‘Mechanix’ tour, before planning a band with Motörhead’s ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke as Fastway, before finally assembling Waysted in 1983. Teaming up with singer Fin Muir, Waysted was completed by Ronnie Kayfield on lead guitar, Frank Noon on drums and Pete’s former UFO band-mate, Paul Raymond, on rhythm guitar and keyboards.
Waysted’s well received debut for Chrysalis, the self- explanatory ‘Vices’ was followed by a mini-album, plus two further studio albums, until Waysted called it a day following the tour to support 1986’s ‘Save Your Prayers’.
Sparked by rekindled interest in the band following the release of ‘Wilderness Of Mirrors’, an album of demos for their ‘Save Your Prayers’ sessions, Pete joined forces with original Waysted singer Fin for 2004’s ‘Back From The Dead’ in a new line up of the band featuring Chris George on guitar with Paul Haslin and Scott Phillips both on drums.

With a fully Remastered audio shaped from 24 bit digital technology, Rock Candy Records have just reissued Pete Way’s post UFO master blaster band WAYSTED and their debut “Vices“, including 6 bonus tracks.
Founder member of British legends UFO, Way left the band after twelve years, briefly forming Fastway with Motorhead’s ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke (and soon bailing for contractual reasons) in 1982.
Immediately Pete founded his own band: WAYSTED, featuring singer Fin Muir, ex MSG and UFO guitarist / keyboardist Paul Raymond, former Def Leppard drummer Frank Noon, and young lead guitar player Ronnie Kayfield.
Waysted released their debut “Vices” the next year, one of the great early ’80s hard rock albums that few heard, sonically ahead of its time for the UK scene, defining the upcoming sound for the genre…
