WRECKING CREW – Fun In The Doghouse [Bad Reputation Remaster +3] (2019)

French label Bad Reputation Records has reissued the for years hard to find Australian hard rockers WRECKING CREW‘s album “Fun In The Doghouse“, digitally remastered, with new artwork and including as bonus 3 tracks taken from the even more impossible to find EP by the band.
Released in 1993 but soon lost in the vaults although the mighty Kevin Shirley (Rush, Journey) took over production duties, “Fun In The Doghouse” delivers strong material full of energy and hard rocking groove.
Partly bluesy (“10c Lovin“) or pure hard rock at times (“Stay“) and always exciting, Wrecking Crew’s style can be compared to GREAT WHITE or SAIGON KICK.

CARL DIXON (Coney Hatch) – Unbroken (2019)

Frontman of legendary Canadian melodic hard rockers Coney Hatch, CARL DIXON has recorded a brand new solo effort by the name of “Unbroken” to be released tomorrow on AOR Heaven Records. Written & arranged in collaboration with Robby Böbel, a long-time stalwart on the German melodic rock music scene with bands like Frontline and Phantom V, among many.
The result is a powerfully sung and performed album that reaches the heights of traditional, classic AOR / Melodic Rock. Memorable hooks, strong melodies, great guitar playing / production, plus drumming performed by Mark Santer (Santers) and newcomer Dylan Gowan (Vesperia, Cardinal Street).

KEEN HUE – Heydays (2019)

On a summer’s day 1978, bass player Lars-Åke loaded his amp and speaker onto his bicycle trailer, heading for the first meeting and rehearsal with guitarist Åke Nyström. Some time later, the second guitarist Stefan Morén and new drummer Peter Ytterberg joined the band.. This was the start of Swedish melodic rockers KEEN HUE.
Fast forward to 2018: Stefan came up with the idea to make new recordings of the old KEEN HUE songs and contacted his old bandmates. Everyone was on board immediately recording their ’80s songs with an updated melodic sound. So here you are, 10 freshly recorded songs written between 1981-1989: the “Heydays”, to be released via AOR Heaven tomorrow.

PINK FLOYD – The Later Years (2019)

PINK FLOYD are to release “The Later Years 1987-2019“, another massive music box set in the style of 2016’s Early Years package. This time around, as the title suggest, the set focuses on the later period when Roger Waters had quit and David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason were left to continue on their own to produce studio albums and undertake massive world tours.
This ‘highlights’ single CD of “The Later Years” will also be released, including the best of the bunch including unreleased recordings, new 2019 remixed tracks and rare live takes.

Cleo Recs has just released “Stray Bullet [Limited Edition +3]”, PRETTY BOY FLOYD‘s early ’90s recordings that were to be the band’s follow-up to their major label debut album Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz. The material showcases a more commercial from the band close to Poison, and were originally supposed to be released as their second album on MCA Records in the early 1990s
The release – limited to 500 copies – also includes the entire 1998 EP ‘A Tale Of Sex, Designer Drugs, And The Death Of Rock N’ Roll’, plus 3 special bonus tracks featuring Tracii Guns on guitar.

SHANGHAI – Take Another Bite [band own remaster + 2019 new track]

Originally only released in Japan, 1991, SHANGHAI debuted with the nine song “Take Another Bite” album, produced / engineered by the great Jeff Cannata and James Christian (House Of Lords), who also sang backing vocals.
For the album’s 25th anniversary there was an expanded reissue (featured on this blog), but now Shanghai are releasing their own remaster with the original artwork plus the bonus track ‘Mutha F’king Rock Star’ which was recorded by original member Tony Childs (guitar) and Jayde (vocals) in 2019 as a tribute to bassist Jodi Reese (RIP).
