JK NORTHRUP (King Kobra) – JK Northrup [recorded 1988-90] (Out Of Print)

JK NORTHRUP is a recognized musician and producer having recorded with the likes of Paul Shortino and Terry Ilous, perhaps better known for his work with King Kobra in the past. You might remember that he recorded the album “III” with them back in 1988. But at the same time Jeff “JK” Northrup started to tape his own songs for a project including KK vocalist Johnny Edwards (ex- Montrose and future Foreigner).
All these material never was released until this new century when Melodic Mayhem Music put out this CD simply titled “JK Northrup“, now out of print.
And glad they did it: we have here a great slice of 80s Melodic Hard Rock of the highest order: Just listen to “The Kid Is Back In Town” or the killer “Survival in the Streets”.
HIGHLY Recommended

TOKYO BLADE – Dark Revolution (2020)

After some delay due the well known global event, UK 80s legends TOKYO BLADE unleash their ninth studio album “Dark Revolution” tomorrow, and it’s been worth the wait. We have 11 tracks of powerhouse British traditional metal / hard rock delivered with the band’s original spirit intact. They rock, and rock hard on this new kick ass opus. As clever...

STARGAZERY – Constellation (2020)

Finland based STARGAZERY already released two very well received albums, and now are ready to unleash their new effort “Constellation“. Admirers of traditional hard rock and melodic metal, what I like from Stargazery is the inclusion of keyboard / synth lines on all songs which creates a very melodic atmosphere, while featuring ex Michael Schenker Group Jari Tiura on lead...

MARCO TAGGIASCO – Togetherness (2020)

“Togetherness” delivers pure West Coast like in many decades did not happen. MARCO TAGGIASCO – creator of the great AOR project Mr. Rubik – follows the path of 80s MICHAEL BOLTON or PETER CETERA / CHICAGO tradition trough the material on offer here.
A pristine production, melodies and lots of emotion put together almost in perfection bring the songs to life. On vocals there are early ’80s West Coast AOR luminaries such as BILL CHAMPLIN, JOE PIZZULO and JEFF PESCETTO.
“A collection of songs you could hear on the radio about 40 years ago“, said the artist. There’s nothing to add here, if you love that FM breezy melodies then you are in the right place.

EVERY MOTHER’S NIGHTMARE – Backtraxx [remastered +3] (2019)

Forming in Memphis, Tennessee in 1987, EVERY MOTHER’S NIGHTMARE released two strong albums for major Arista Records in 1990 / 93. The band recorded their 3rd effort in 1994 but were dropped by the label, and the tapes shelved. Finally in 2001 Perris Records released it under the title “Backtraxx“.
After hearing from fans that the CD was seemingly impossible to find, the band decided to release it again in 2019. Remastered by Bill Chavis for HighVolMusic with a new artwork and adding a few bonus tracks for their fans, once again “Backtraxx” gets a new life, and enters our music lovin’ lives.

ROX DIAMOND – Rox Diamond [Remastered +1]

As requested, here’s ROX DIAMOND debut album “Rox Diamond” remastered some time ago including a bonus track. This remaster went out of print, but then reissued. If there was an award for “Bad Timing” then surely Rox Diamond would be in with a good shout to claim such an accolade. Releasing their debut album way back in 1992 to rave...

VANDENBERG – 2020

VANDENBERG, a name with an illustrious past led by master guitarist Adrian Vandenberg, the Dutch foursome released three quality albums during the early to mid-’80s, namely, the self-titled 1982 debut, (spawning the US hit single ‘Burning Heart’) ‘Heading For A Storm’ (’83) and ‘Alibi’ (’85). Adrian was a member of Whitesnake for 13 years at the height of their fame,...

As member of Whitesnake Adrian Vandenberg would become famous, but the guitarist started his international career with his Dutch band VANDENBERG in the early ’80s achieving considerable success. VANDENBERG – Alibi [Rock Candy remastered] full scans

Here’s the Rock Candy Records remastered version from one of the strongest (and underrated) Melodic Hard Rock albums from the mid-Eighties; “Alibi“, the last ’80s recording of VANDENBERG. Adrian Van den Berg (who uses an Anglicized version of his Dutch name: Adrian Vandenberg) has been, quite rightly, hailed as one of the world’s best rock guitar players, carving out a...

THE LETHAL IDOLS – Sounds Illegal (2020)

Hailing from Milan, Italy, THE LETHAL IDOLS define themselves as ‘Neo Sleaze’, influenced by the acts they already opened shows for, such as L.A. Guns, BlackRain, Chase The Ace, The Cruel Intentions, Nasty Ratz, Shameless and more, plus referents from the genre like Motley Crue, Shotgun Messiah, KISS, Crashdiet, etc.
After some demo tracks, in 2017 The Idols released their first official single, and last year started to work on this, their full length debut titled “Sounds Illegal“.

TREMENDOUS – Relentless (2020)

It takes some balls for a band to not only call itself ‘TREMENDOUS‘, but also use all caps in their name. Fortunately, the Birmingham, England-based trio deliver the goods with their colorful and exuberant style of Glam Hard Rock that’s heavily influenced by such legendary and diverse artists as Cheap Trick, Slade, Def Leppard, Mott The Hoople, Journey, New York Dolls, The Babys, David Bowie, and Aerosmith.
On their fresh debut album “Relentless” the swagger and confidence of this band is infectious. They have all the down n’ dirty catchiness of the aforementioned acts at their best, the showmanship and vocal power of Steve Tyler, and a sense of fun not often seen amongst young and emerging bands.
