New Year, very good new music / albums to come. Here we have our classic 0dayrox Advanced Releases, the second 2021 batch, featuring top class artists / singles.
Among the cracking numbers into this “January / March 2021 – Vol.5” advances we find new music from SUNSTORM, ISSA, AT THE MOVIES just released single, AORsters REVLIN PROJECT, new female fronted act STARLIGHT, THE NORSEMAN COMPANY (feat. Age Sten Nilsen), and many more.

Norwegian female melodic rocker ISSA is back with her sixth studio album, “Queen of Broken Hearts” on March 12, 2021 via Frontiers Music Srl. The first taste of the new album is titled ‘Angels Calling’, a song with a strong AOR feeling and classy keyboards.

SUNSTORM, the project created, overseen, and directed by President and A&R director of Frontiers Records, was originally designed to showcase a musical style similar to singer Joe Lynn Turner’s Melodic Rock/AOR roots. After five successful releases, Sunstorm will now be a vehicle for one of the most impressive vocal talents to emerge in recent years in the form of Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero. Romero’s debut album with Sunstorm, “Afterlife” will be released on March 12, 2021. First taste ‘Swan Song’ is a killer melodic hard rocker.

AT THE MOVIES, the Scandavian super group dedicated to covering songs from various film soundtracks, have released a new song; ‘King Of Wishful Thinking’, originally performed by Go West for the movie Pretty Woman.
The continues their foray into the soundtracks of the 1990s, after having previously covered hits from ’80s movies. Their version, obviously, rocks harder.

REVLIN PROJECT are back, and signed a deal with Lions Pride Music for the release of their new album ‘Transcender’ next March. On ‘World Within’, the first single, the band continues with their AOR style influenced by Signal, Danger Danger, Journey, etc.

‘Another Destination’ is the first single from new female-fronted act STARLIGHT, featuring as guests Andreas Passmark (W.E.T.) on bass and Mikael Jansson (Degreed) on keyboards. With Mats Eriksson (Degreed) mixing & mastering, the song sounds great. Very promising new band.

The internationally renowned guitar slinger, vocalist, songwriter DAMON JOHNSON (Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper) is ready to release a new album soon. ‘Battle Lessons’ is anchored by the searing title track showcasing Johnson’s gutsy vocals and razor riffs over presto grooves by his band The Get Ready drummer Jarred Pope (Tom Keifer) and bassist Robbie Harrington (Steve Vai). I can hear this terrific rocker all day.

THE NORSEMAN COMPANY is the classic hard rock solo project of former HUMBUCKER drummer Geir Arne Dale, featuring the who’s who from the Norwgian scene and more. Among the guests there’s vocalist Age Sten Nilsen (WIG WAM, AMMUNITION), guitarist Peer Taraldsen (PEER GYNT), Rowan Robertson (ex DIO), etc. Real, classic hard rock with a bright sound.

Talented Canadian melodic rockers TOQUE have released a cover of the SHERIFF’s Eighties classic ‘When I’m With You’, a very sweet, polished version that really makes justice to this great tune.

Scandinavian West Coast kings STATE COWS are working on a new album, still untitled. ‘Turnaround’ is the first taste, a funky n’ groovy AOR song with hte trademark style of the band but a slightly modernized production. Great one.
