SECRET SPHERE – Lifeblood (2021)
Italy’s SECRET SPHERE are back with a new studio album, “Lifeblood“, which will be released via Frontiers Music Aside from the deft musical prowess on show, it is a special record in that it marks the return of original band vocalist Roberto Messina (also fronting ETERNAL IDOL).
Secret Sphere have been crafting epic, melodic European progressive metal for almost 25 years, and “Lifeblood” easily is among the best they have created so far.
“Shaping Reality,” kicks off proceedings with an intriguing arrangement that gets the listener’s heartbeat going in preparation for what’s to come. “The End Of An Ego” takes that feeling and amplifies it by ten, then “Alive” indeed need to be played in the arenas with its perfect conjuction of melodies and grace.
“Solitary Fight” is driven by a catchy rhythm and never stops with a great guitar work and soaring vocals, and the band deliver a midtempo full of passion with “The Lie We Love”.
With a rejuvenated line-up, ”Lifeblood” displays a group enjoying a new lease of life. Vocalist Roberto Messina fronted Secret Sphere from 1997 to 2012 and the reunion has also enabled his other group colleagues to revisit their glorious early days and find the same exuberant energy.
”Lifeblood” is the result and celebrates the classic sound of Secret Sphere with its bombastic arrangements and some memorable choruses.
