WINGER – Seventeen The Demos [300 hand numbered limited edition]
Here’s the requested, rare 300 hand-numbered limited edition red vinyl of WINGER ‘s “Seventeen The Demos“, released some time ago by Cleopatra Records, now a collectible and of course out of print. This is an official release, but there isn’t a regular cardboard cover with this, just a paper sleeve and a insert in a plastic sheet sleeve. Also included is a patch and a pin / button.
These excellent 16-track professional demos were released in other formats but sonically pretty brick-walled / saturated. However the mastering for this LP pressing is different, much better.
Musically, these are top notch melodic rock / AOR classics, original versions of ‘Can’t Get Enuff’, ‘Easy Come Easy Go’, ‘Seventeen’, ‘Headed for a Heartbreak’, etc.
The amazing thing about this release is that these demo tracks sound unbelievably good. A lot of start-up bands nowadays would be ecstatic to put out a demo release with the audio quality of this one.
There are tracks like “Madalaine,” which sound similar to the officially released track, but seems like they are tuned down for another look into how it might have turned out.
Overall, these recordings have a nice raw feel and energy to them. Kip’s vocals sound great, Reb’s guitar is up in the mix and he even has a few surprise licks here and there. While Paul Taylor and Rod Morgenstein are listed here, they only play on a couple of songs. Most is handled by Kip, Reb, machines and session musicians.
”Seventeen The Demos” LP sounds great, better than on any other format.
Highly Recommended

The guitar work on Headed Gor A Heartbreak is even better on the the demo version of the song and even longer than on the original album release (if it’s the unedited version).
Thank You
Thank you so much…
This isn’t a vinyl rip, it’s just the correct songs lifted from the 2007 Demo Anthology, as the tracks in this download have the corresponding track numbers from the Demo Anthology. If it was a true vinyl rip of the Seventeen Demos, it wouldn’t have tracks numbered as 25, 33, 35, 36 and 37.
This is a vinyl rip, listen to the difference with headphones. Tags are web-generated by an editor and takes track names from a database
