SHOOTING STAR – Burning (1983) [digitally remastered] HQ
And completing the request of all SHOOTING STAR Eighties album here’s ”Burning”, from 1983, digitally remastered. One of the most respected acts from the American scene since the very early ’80s, Shooting Star enjoyed a considerable success during that decade delivering a bunch of great albums. Starting with a pomp/AOR sound which developed into a melodic hard rock vein in the ’90s, Shooting Star always created quality material.
”Burning”, the fourth SHOOTING STAR album released in 1983 continues the band’s AOR dominance with lots of keys but this time guitar riffs are sharper, turning this Lp a killer melodic hard rock affair.
There’s still some Journey-esque moments as on the previous album, but overall “Burning” pump the gas. The opening salvos of ‘Preview/Straight Ahead’ came flying out of the speakers, the ethical title track talks about the passion, and “Straight Ahead” rocks solid. “Train Rolls On” deliver one of the best Gary West vocal performances ever, while “Taken Enough” is very melodic.
”Burning” is one of the strongest albums in SHOOTING STAR catalog, a catalog already stupendous, especially all their 80s works.
