STONEBOLT - Regeneration: Best of Stonebolt (Digitally Remastered) HQ / out of print - full
HERE

With the recent remaster of STONEBOLT third album featured here, it was requested this “Regeneration: Best of Stonebolt“, containing 16 songs including all of the bands’ hits together, with key album tracks and a new song especially recorded for this release, which, by the way, it’s out of print now.
Stonebolt was formed in Vancouver, BC in 1973, but the roots of the band stretch back to the late 60’s when high school friends Ray Roper, Brian Lousley, and Dan Atchison played together for local teen dances.
In 1976 the band secured a recording contract with Parachute Records and released a very successful debut LP before the label folded, but RCA saw Stonebolt’s potential and sign them for three more albums during the early ’80s.
Mixing power-pop freshness with awesome FM radio melodic rock and even some pomp AOR, Stonebolt’s music is a pure delight for fans of the genre, similar to Dakota, Balance, Cheap Trick, etc.

In Canada, Stonebolt became a popular radio act with a number of hit singles topping the Canadian charts, but it was until the ballad “I Will Still Love You” became an international hit in 1978 that Stonebolt became more recognized and word-wide known.
The band had hits in the U.S., Europe, and Japan, and has played concerts as far away as Osaka, Japan, and made regular appearances on national TV shows such as American Bandstand and Midnight Special. In 1983, the band broke up due to label conflicts and changing musical trends.

In the ’90s the band reunited again for a series of shows, and the idea for this “Regeneration: Best of Stonebolt” surfaced. The group recorded one new song for the compilation, and while listening the tapes of the early albums, they decided to re-record some of the songs.
That’s why the title ‘Regeneration’; many of the songs, especially the older, were re-recorded.

While many first time fans may wanted the original versions remastered to be included into “Regeneration: Best of Stonebolt” instead of re-recordings, let me tell you the ‘refreshed versions’ are excellent, better then the originals with richer arrangements and better production. The songs from the band’s third & fourth LP’s are the original versions, remastered.

The sound quality on this CD is superb – the original takes remastered and the re-recorded – and it’s great to hear these melodic, late ’70s / early ’80s gems in such good quality.
Stonebolt achieved international recognition back in the day, but became lost in the ’80s. With “Regeneration: Best of Stonebolt” the band can be once more discovered by today’s generation of music lovers. Hope the disc gets a re-release / re-pressing soon.
