HERE

Bringing together ’80s American East Coast rock n’ roll attitude with West Coast swagger, TRIP THE WIRE is a high-energy classic hard rock band from Seattle, Washington. The dynamic hooks, tight and driving rhythm ‘n’ grooves, fiery guitar leads and female powerhouse vocals are sure to get your fists in the air and keep you rocking long after you hear their self-titled debut on June 16th, 2023.
Born and raised in the Bronx, TRIP THE WIRE’s frontwoman Eve Clarke joined forces with lifetime Washingtonian axe-man Dave Farrell in June of 2020. Soon after, Eve’s bandmate from another project, bass player Johnny Massey, joined the fold. Drummer Rico Ybarra rounded out the lineup just prior to the band’s first show.
TRIP THE WIRE’s musical vibe is that of classic to traditional metal with the catchiness of late ’80s / early ’90s hard rock sound, sharp guitars riffs, rumbling ‘bass guitar’, steady drumming and clean powerful vocals. Production is crisp, all mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Dokken, Dream Theater).

The songs of this debut album depicts a band that has two feets on the past due its influences – melodic metal & hard rock – but with the head in the present with a modern production, and with eyes open in the direction of the future.
Tracks like “Anti-Love” (a fine combo of distortion, aggressiveness and melodies, with excellent guitar riffs and organic leads), “Hurricane” – what a killer bass guitar & drums lines, in a heavy and catchy number with 80s elements creating hooks impossible to resist, and “Zombie Child” (this one is truly a classy Hard ‘n’ Roller, raw and catchy) really rock.

“Shine On” is different – on its deeper and melancholic parts, the vocals shows versatility, evading ‘one-way-singing’. “The Fire” is just another song full of melodic hooks, but with contrasts between catchiness & heaviness, while “Outta My Hands” is an introspective and accessible moment of the album, with very good Moogs and clean guitar parts.

“Trip The Wire” is a really pleasant surprise, both the band – skilled songwriters & performers – and the album, plenty of melodic tunes catchy n’ heavy at the same time.
