Sadly, GREAT WHITE‘s founding member / lead singer Jack Russell passed away after being diagnosed with a rare disease a some time ago. He was – and forever will – one of the greatest Rock vocalists from the golden era, timeless rockin’ music.
As a humble tribute to Jack’s talent, here’s “Gallery : The Definitive Collection Of Their Masterpieces“, a GREAT WHITE remastered compilation exclusively done by Axe Killer Records (now Bad Reputation Records) and never released by any other label / company.
“Gallery” isn’t a greatest hits record, but more a selection of Great White’s best compositions and most of them being ‘inside tracks’. Sure, ‘Rock Me’ and ‘Call It Rock ‘n’ Roll’ are here in the tracklist, but darn, hit singles or not these are terrific tunes.

GREAT WHITE - Gallery : The Definitive Collection Of Their Masterpieces [Bad Reputation / Axe Killer remaster +2] booklet

Axe Killer / Bad Reputation Records always give us an extra plus, and we find a couple of collector’s bonus tracks. The really good riff-driven rocker ‘Slow Ride’ was originally the B-side for the single ‘Once Bitten Twice Shy’, only released on vinyl 7”, and later a Japanese edition bonus track.
Then the hot and very well recorded version of ‘Bad Boys [Live 1984]’, as far we know, in fact recorded in 1983 and included into the rare Recovery Live album. Additionally, ‘Desert Moon’ is featured here in its original version, not the live take appeared in the Capitol Greatest Hits release.

GREAT WHITE - Gallery : The Definitive Collection Of Their Masterpieces [Bad Reputation / Axe Killer remaster +2] back

As said, “Gallery : The Definitive Collection Of Their Masterpieces” is not a greatest hits but a collectors compilation, very, very well remastered by Axe Killer.
We think this remastered finds the perfect balance between modern punchy output and ‘vintage remaster style’ , something the Great White musical style needs. Fantastic sound quality and very nice artwork / booklet.
