We have featured two years ago the debut album by Swedes BOHEMIAN LIFESTYLE, and now we bring to you in exclusive their new 2017 effort titled “Post Vintage“. It’s a really fitting name for this record, as musically the Stockholm band keeps their classic rock / hard ‘vintage’ style, but updated to modern times.

BOHEMIAN LIFESTYLE sounds great on this new album. These guys are tagged as ‘retro rock’ but I don’t think so, because ‘retro’ means trying to capture a bygone era sound and here we find a combination of early ’90s melodic guitars, ’80s hard rock energy and a bit of ’70s glam.
All songs in the new album are built upon rich rhythmic, uptempo mode with the guitars well present, a groovy bass / drum foundation, torn vocals, and nice classy keyboards / organs complementing the sound.

“One By One” is a really good opener driven by an insistent riff a with a catchy chorus, followed by the even more fast paced “Dance” which invites you, indeed, to the dancefloor with its foot-tapping rhythm. Both songs are arena ready rockers, where Pontus Klas Viberg’s vocals have some Cormac Neeson (THE ANSWER) colour.
But not everything is linear. The album presents a lot of stadium-like rockers, but on track 3 “Circles” a whirlwind Hammond organ appears for a dynamic bluesy rock cut akin CAROUSEL VERTIGO.

Next “Something to Gain” is more melodious and like a hymn (love the drums here and the massive chorus), “Rainfall” is a quite ‘vintage’ rocker still updated in sound recalling Swedes CASABLANCA, while “Keepers of the Wild” is a very enjoyable semi-ballad with acoustics throw-in.
“Rebel Soul” returns to the uptempo rockin’ side where the overall feel is almost melodic rock, “No Saint” is propelled by a broken riff and again anthemic harmony vocals, while closer “Loaded Gun” fuse a bluesy melody with a punchy chorus and lots of intensity.

BOHEMIAN LIFESTYLE’s previous album was a strong release, and on “Post Vintage” the Swedes have improved in all aspects. There’s a much more focused songwriting, aiming for big arenas. Additionally, the guys strengthened musicianship and production is brighter.
This is classic stuff updated to current sounds, a very mature record and well-made on the whole.
