A coming-out party for Glenn Frey and Don Henley’s songwriting skills, the studio record – the band’s fourth, and its first to hit #1 on the charts – signifies the group’s ascent to superstar status. Home to three massive singles (the title track, “Lyin’ Eyes,” and “Take It to the Limit”) and nominated for four Grammy Awards, the quadruple-platinum 1975 effort solidified the Eagles’ Southern California-reared sound and made the band a household name.
Playing with reference sonics and incredible clarity, this SACD provides a rich, dynamic, transparent, and three-dimensional view into a release that…

EAGLES – On The Border [Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab SACD Numbered] (2022) *HQ*

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MoFi), a leading company delivering the foremost audio technology specializing in high-quality reissues of key albums, just released another EAGLES’ iconic ‘70s studio album on the imprint’s UltraDisc Super Audio CD (SACD) format, for many, the best-sounding in the world.
Now it’s time for Eagles’ third album ”On The Border”. Mastered from the original analog Master Tapes for exquisite sound, this Mobile Fidelity’s Numbered-Edition Hybrid SACD reveals the crucial link between Bill Szymczyk’s raw production and the band’s harder-edged songs.
With its name indicative of the music’s boundary-testing diversity and Southwestern inspiration, ‘On The Border’ finds the Eagles leaving everything on the table and embracing a rockier edge that takes the band out of more relaxed territory and establishes it as a group that knows how — and wants — to rock.
This now Double-Platinum album marks the debut of guitarist Don Felder who brings ‘electricity’ to Eagles, featuring the hits ‘Already Gone,’ ‘James Dean,’ and ‘Best of My Love’…

TIMOTHY B. SCHMIT (Eagles) – Day By Day (2022)

The man who has graced countless AOR albums with his harmony / backing vocals & songwriting contributions, Eagles’ bass player TIMOTHY B. SCHMIT, has released a new solo album titled “Day By Day” featuring special guests Jackson Browne, Lindsey Buckingham, John Fogerty, Benmont Tench, Jim Keltner, John McFee and Kenny Wayne Sheppard.
Much like his band Eagles, Schmit is not a particularly prolific creature when it comes releasing solo material. He’s released just seven solo albums during the past 38 years, the last, 6 years ago. But when Schmit does put something out, he usually makes it worth the wait – as is the case with ”Day By Day”.
Co-produced by Schmit and Jeff Peters and recorded primarily remotely during the pandemic, the 12-song set displays smooth, easygoing confidence alongside its broad stylistic reach…

DON FELDER – Airborne [Wounded Bird Records remastered reissue] out of print

As requested, here’s the rare, now out of print reissue of DON FELDER first solo album ”Airborne”. After being The Eagles member, the man who co-wrote the timeless song “Hotel California” released this solo debut LP in 1983 with the help of talented friends like Tris Imboden, the late Carlos Vega, Jeff Lorber, Kenny Loggins, Nathan East, etc.
I laugh out loud when I read ”Airborne” reviews with critics, at the time, saying something like this: “Felder seems to have forgotten the harmonies and ringing arpeggios that made The Eagles famous in favor to a commercial sheen production and radio-oriented rock”… Welcome! I celebrate that.
It was 1983, and ”Airborne” delivers that classic AOR sound from the era. There’s synths, funky bass lines, drums with reverb, and of course Felder’s signature guitar and solid vocals. Felder was aiming for a recording artist career (which didn’t happened) and following The Eagles style would’ve been pointless…
