QUIET RIOT – Quiet Riot I [No Remorse Records remastered +3] (2022) HQ *Full / Exclusive*

QUIET RIOT’s discography is a very particular case, because the band’s first two albums, their self-titled debut from 1977 and “Quiet Riot II” from 1978, were only released in Japan.
For the western world, the first album was “Metal health” from 1983, already with another formation, which was a commercial success with hits like “Cum on feel the noize”. But before there were also those works, which are important for the history of Quiet Riot and where the impressive talent of Randy Rhoads was first exposed to the world.
”Quiet Riot I & II” never were officially released on CD, and specialized label No Remorse Records had been working closely on the reissues for years, exchanging many emails and conversations with Frankie Banali, who believed that these albums are very important in Quiet Riot’s legacy as they paved the way for the band’s reformation and world-wide success.
Banali’s passing in August 2020 put things on hold for a while, but No Remorse has finalized the final details with Banali’s estate, and long-awaited reissues of early Quiet Riot albums are finally available remastered, properly silver pressed.
Now we have here ”Quiet Riot I” in all its sonic glory, and including 3 collectible, rare bonus tracks.

QUIET RIOT – The Randy Rhoads Years [re-worked, re-mixed, re-mastered, unreleased] *HQ*

Revisiting the early days of QUIET RIOT with the first time ever reissue of the band’s two first albums featured in exclusive here at 0dayrox, it’s also necessary to listen to this “The Randy Rhoads Years“, a compilation album done by the band in the Nineties. As both ‘Quiet Riot I & II’ still remained officially unreleased outside Japan, Kevin DuBrow decided to re-work the Seventies material and release this album as a Randy Rhoads tribute.
“The Randy Rhoads Years” features previously unreleased material and some re-mixed / re-worked songs from Quiet Riot’s first two albums. None of the tracks on ”The Randy Rhoads Years” are the same versions that appear on the original two Quiet Riot albums.
At the request of the Rhoads family, longtime Quiet Riot vocalist Kevin DuBrow remixed all the tracks, except the previously unreleased “Force of Habit” as its multitrack master tapes had been lost…

QUIET RIOT – Alive and Well [Deluxe Edition : remastered + Bonus CD] (2022)

Deadline / Cleopatra Records just released a new version of QUIET RIOT ninth studio album ”Alive And Well”. The iconic 1999 record is getting a Deluxe Edition 2-CD package including a bonus disc featuring previously unreleased recordings and versions of songs that didn’t make the original cut.
According to Deadline, “the release has been digitally remastered to bring out every nuance of the original eight compositions as well as QUIET RIOT’s cover of AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’ and the six revamped / re-recorded QR classics.”
The package also contain a bonus disc with additional rare live takes and demos of tracks that were later fleshed out on ‘Metal Health’, including ‘Thunderbird’, DuBrow’s heartfelt tribute to founding QR guitarist, the great Randy Rhoads, plus new artwork showcasing the iconic ‘Man With The Metal Mask’ on the cover.
The 1999 album remains an important cornerstone in the band’s history as it reunited the classic lineup of singer Kevin DuBrow, guitarist Carlos Cavazo, bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Frankie Banali, the same quartet which coalesced during the recording of the blockbuster multi-platinum-selling “Metal Health” album and went on to record much-lauded follow-up, 1984’s “Condition Critical”…

QUIET RIOT – Playlist ; The Very Best Of [Japan Edition remastered] HQ

The “Playlist ; The Very Best Of” Sony Music series were nice compilations where you are able to find the band in question best songs. The good thing about these ‘Playlist’ CD’s is that in some cases, all the material was specially remastered for this specific release.
QUIET RIOT classic albums have been remastered already, however this Japanese press of ‘Playlist ; The Very Best Of Quiet Riotremastered songs sound ‘different‘. And in a good way.
Additionally, while ‘Playlist ; The Very Best Of Quiet Riot’ may boast little in the way of rare, live, or unreleased material, it certainly eclipses 1996’s Greatest Hits collection as the most listenable Quiet Riot overview on the market.

ROUGH CUTT – Wants You! [Rock Candy remastered]

Fronted by great shouter Paul Shortino, ROUGH CUTT never achieved the commercial success enjoyed by many other L.A. hard rock bands during the ’80s, but their two albums from the era are truly excellent. Rock Candy Records has ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ both… now it’s time for second effort where Rough Cutt… “Wants You!
For Rough Cutt their career was, in retrospect, all about missed opportunity. As one of the first L.A. based bands to excite the early ’80s scene, and signed to label behemoths Warner Brothers Records, they were expected to feed the flames of a growing interest in hard rock.
Thank goodness for record labels like Rock Candy, because this album – and Rough Cutt’s debut – deserved a proper remaster, but essentially for being available again at a regular price…

ROUGH CUTT – Rough Cutt [Rock Candy remaster]

Although ROUGH CUTT never achieved the commercial success enjoyed by many other L.A. hard rock bands during the ’80s, their two albums from the era are truly excellent. Rock Candy Records has just ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ both… let’s go with the band’s self-titled “Rough Cutt”.
After rising from the ashes of several San Diego hard rock bands in 1983 (including the pre-Ratt Mickey Ratt), and contributing a few ear-catching tracks to the L.A.’s Hottest Unsigned Bands compilation, the earliest incarnation of Rough Cutt proceeded to be plundered by everyone from Ozzy Osbourne (who snagged guitarist Jake E. Lee), Giuffria (hiring guitarist Craig Goldy) to Ronnie James Dio (who pinched keyboardist Claude Schnell).

QUIET RIOT – Hollywood Cowboys (2019)

Legendary hard rockers QUIET RIOT will release their new studio album, “Hollywood Cowboys”, on November 8 via Frontiers Music. The band continues their historic journey with founding member and drummer Frankie Banali, who is joined by veteran bassist Chuck Wright (who has been in and out of the band since 1982) and guitarist Alex Grossi (member since 2004). With their latest release “Road Rage” Quiet Riot introduced to the fans powerhouse vocalist James Durbin, who stepped in the eleventh hour to give his imprint to the new songs.
I sincerely hope that all of the turmoil surrounding the band doesn’t detract fans from checking this album out because it’s a very strong record that sees the band re-capturing their fire and energy from the ’80s.
