BLACKFOOT – Flyin’ High [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] *0dayrox Exclusive*

Many of you have been asking for missing Rock Candy remastered & reloaded reissues to complete collections, and here’s the requested, never posted before BLACKFOOT‘s terrific album “Flyin’ High“.
This is BLACKFOOT second album, and for many their best, because here the band while still melodic, come raw & rockin’, part Lynyrd Skynyrd and part Led Zeppelin, helping to consolidate a style that would later springboard them to international acclaim in the ’80s.
And despite its ‘straight-from-the-amp’ sound, “Flyin’ High” sounds stupendous for a 1976 recording, ahead of its time for this kind of bands. This has been capitalized by Andy Pearce to obtain a big, clean remaster.

BLACKFOOT – Strikes [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

Another must have from the Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded series from legends BLACKFOOT is the kicking “Strikes“, the album which make them really popular (Platinum certified) and features their biggest hit ‘Train, Train’.
Blackfoot was the hard rock version of southern rock’s finest bands. Where Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers would take time between rocking out with a ballad, or a blues song or, in the Allmans case, a jazzy number, Blackfoot did nothing but pump out balls-to-the-wall southern fried rock and roll.
And “Strikes” was the first album ever mixing US southern rock with Hard Rock. And it’s a killer…

BLACKFOOT – Highway Song Live (Rock Candy remastered & reloaded)

More from BLACKFOOT classic albums Remastered & Reloaded by Rock Candy Records: here’s the bestial “Highway Song Live“, one of the best live Rock albums ever recorded and a classic in this matter for me.
Some live albums have a special place in our hearts, and “Highway Song Live” are one of those.
The likes of Thin Lizzy, UFO, Kiss, Peter Frampton and a host of others have for one reason or another pretty much earned their reputations based solely on live performance and their respected live album.
It is also true for Blackfoot, one of the hardest working bands of the era, who captured a definitive live set with “Highway Song Live”, a work of sheer perfection and ballsy brilliance.
Issued in 1982, and recorded by the Rolling Stones mobile on Blackfoot’s UK tour of the same year, the excitement and energy of Blackfoot is palpable…

BLACKFOOT – Tomcattin’ [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

As requested more from BLACKFOOT legendary albums Remastered & Reloaded by Rock Candy Records. Let’s go with the essential “Tomcattin”.
For some the road to success is rapid and relatively stress free; sudden popularity achieved by a combination of luck and being in the right place at the right time. For others it’s a slow and fatiguing rise to the top with years spent honing their craft, building up a loyal fan following and eventually penetrating the charts by stealth rather by hype.
For Blackfoot, it was the latter path that provided them with recognition years after they first stepped out on the rocky road to success…

BLACKFOOT – Marauder [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

And here’s more BLACKFOOT legendary albums Remastered & Reloaded by Rock Candy Records. Let’s go with the killer “Marauder“. By this point in their career Jacksonville based Blackfoot were reaping the rewards of over ten years of dedicated work. The band had been on a nonstop treadmill of recording and gigging, carving out a dedicated following in not only the US but also in Europe where their southern star was very much in the ascendancy.
Indeed, the band’s tour with the Scorpions pretty much saw them take all the accolades leaving no doubt as to which of the two groups was the hot ticket.
Scorpions’ Klaus Meine said; “Blackfoot surprised with their incredibly energetic show and quality musicianship. They were better than us on stage”.

KANSAS – Drastic Measures [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded +1] *0dayrox Exclusive*

As requested, here’s the Rock Candy Records remastered & reloaded release of KANSAS 1983’s album “Drastic Measures“, the band’s ninth and final studio offering from the first era before hanging up their instruments.
“Drastic Measures” was the band’s second album to feature new vocalist John Elefante – an appointment made necessary after the departure of Steve Walsh. Not surprisingly, the band’s sound was evolving, moving with the times and displaying a more accessible timbre.
Sure, the progressive rock element was still entirely audible but the songs and delivery fitted into the jet stream of men on a mission. AOR for sure but with an edge and urgency that leaves little room for debate.
This RC remaster is bright and clear, however not including bonus tracks. We added our own, a ‘0dayrox extra’, the song Kansas recorded at the same sessions and included a year after into their 1984’s ‘The Best of Kansas’.

ALDO NOVA – Twitch [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] (2021) *0dayrox Exclusive*

As requested, here’s the fresh Rock Candy Records remastered version of Canada’s multifaceted one-man music-creator ALDO NOVA third album ”Twitch”. Hit composer for others, Nova also had his chance as solo artist, and “Twitch”, originally released in 1985, is one of the greatest American AOR albums from the ’80s.
Many people may say that Aldo’s first release was his best… but in our opinion this 3rd solo effort “Twitch” is the definitive Nova, and one of the best representative albums from the genre.
Sure, the sharp guitar of Aldo’s previous releases – both superb albums in its own right – are not upfront here in favor to swirling keys and very ’80s synths. Yeah, it may be not so rocking as its predecessors, but man, this is ’80s AOR perfection.

DONNIE IRIS – Fortune 410 [Rock Candy remaster +1] (2021) *0dayrox Exclusive*

Rock Candy Records has just remastered & reloaded DONNIE IRIS‘ most celebrated 80s albums with a pristine sound quality, and here’s the last from the batch, the really mid-Eighties sounding ”Fortune 410”, including a bonus track.
New Wave-ish AOR anyone? ”Fortune 410” is plenty of it. The sound became more processed according to times (originally released in 1983) but still retained an edge of perfect pure power-pop. This album packs some of Iris’ most expressive vocals and songs, like ‘Stagedoor Johnny’, ‘I’m A User’, the delicious ‘She’s So European’, ‘Do You Compute?’ and the insanely catchy ‘Cry (If you Want To)’, paving the way for a tidal wave of praise from fans.
The album had a computer-like artwork – a hi-tech coolness for the era – and the single hit ‘Do You Compute?’ was used by the video game / computer company Atari to form a cross-marketing promotion.
Pure Eighties stuff indeed.

DONNIE IRIS – King Cool [Rock Candy remastered +1] (2021) *0dayrox Exclusive*

Rock Candy Records has just remastered & reloaded DONNIE IRIS‘ the most celebrated Eighties albums with a pristine sound quality, and for many his best album is 1981’s “King Cool“, in this reissue including a bonus track.
Squeezing out a sound somewhere between The Cars and Foreigner with a dash of radio-friendly AOR, Iris and his kindred spirit, producer, keyboard player & songwriter Mark Avsec formed Donnie Iris And The Cruisers in the late Seventies, releasing a successful debut followed by this one a year after.
”King Cool” is rammed with potential hit singles that were presented in a luscious style with hints of classic old-school radio-rock but blessed with a smooth AOR sheen.

EDDIE MONEY – Life For The Taking [Rock Candy remaster] *0dayrox Exclusive*

Many of you have been asking for missing Rock Candy remastered & reloaded reissues to complete collections, and here’s as requested EDDIE MONEY‘s 2nd album “Life For The Taking“, perhaps the most complete LP in the singer’s career.
Recorded with a clever ‘if it’s not broken, don’t fix it’ approach and sticking to what he knew best, for “Life For The Taking” Eddie reconvened the same team who worked on his debut album. The results were equally as magical, Eddie’s identifiably gritty voice sitting atop a fine collection of songs that mixed r ‘n’ b with rock very much in the same style as his debut album.
Issued in early 1979, the album consolidated the success of his debut, lodging itself in the top 20 of the US album charts. It also contained material that would provide more introspective lyrical content such ‘You Can’t Keep A Good Man Down’ and the magnificent title track, a brooding epic inspired by his childhood experiences in Brooklyn.

HELIX – Long Way To Heaven [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] HQ

This one was requested by many in maximum quality, HELIX more ‘AORish’ album from the mid-Eighties; the ultra polished “Long Way To Heaven“, fully ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ by Rock Candy Records specialists.
Helix were a band you could always count on to deliver; live they were like an explosion in a circus and on record they served up numerous hard rock anthems.
Furthermore, they were relentless hard workers, banging out classy albums in the blink of an eye and touring the world like men possessed. The smart money was on Helix not only making the grade but also setting the bar for Canadian rock in general.
Helix first rocked the world a couple years earlier on the excellent No Rest For The Wicked, but I believe they put all the pieces together just right on this “Long Way To Heaven”. The songs are great and production top notch.
This Rock Candy remaster is excellent, the best…

EDDIE MONEY – Eddie Money [Rock Candy remaster] *0dayrox Exclusive*

Many of you have been asking for missing Rock Candy reissues to complete collections, and here’s as requested EDDIE MONEY‘s most famous album, his self-titled debut fully remastered including the hits ‘Two Tickets To Paradise’ and ‘Baby Hold On’.
After signing a recording contract with Columbia Records, Eddie Mahoney burst onto the scene with his eponymous debut album in 1977. Fans immediately fell in love with Money’s sound, and the album went double platinum.
“Eddie Money” was produced by former Doors alumni Bruce Botnick, with able assistance from famed engineers Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin) and Mike Clink (Guns N’ Roses). It also featured musical support from members of the Steve Miller Band and introduced guitarist Jimmy Lyon, a man who would act as the perfect foil for Eddie’s instantly identifiable voice…

EDDIE MONEY – Playing For Keeps [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

Many of you have been asking for missing Rock Candy reissues to complete collections, and here’s as requested EDDIE MONEY 1980’s album “Playing For Keeps”, fully remastered shaped from 24 BIT digital technology.
Eddie’s s first two albums certainly set the scene: panoramic melodic hard rock filled with memorable hooks supporting an instantly identifiable rasp. It was a tailor made sound that perfectly fitted the American airwaves sitting comfortably besides music from the likes of Boston, Foreigner and Journey. A reliable style that served Eddie well and it was masterfully replicated on this, his third, album.
Highlights include the classic Money rocker ‘The Wish’ (one of his best tracks), melodic midtempo opener ‘Trinidad’, the great…

Y&T – Earthshaker [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

Rock Candy Records did a ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ treatment to the early ’80s Y&T albums, for many, the band’s finest moment. “Earthshaker” was Y&T’s first album for A&M and the first under their current name, after changing it from Yesterday and Today used on the two prior records.
This record changed everything for Meniketti & Co., with a polished production (yet still retaining a quite heavy sound) and full of radio-friendly hooks.
The whole album standouts driven by hot riffs, even present on the ballsy power ballad “I Believe In You”, a reference for just about every hair metal to come in the way of crafting their rock ballads.
“Earthshaker” stunned the hard rock world with its aggressive songs and production. It was a double whammy that breathed new life into the band’s profile, helping to re-establish them as…

EDDIE MONEY – No Control [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

Many of you have been asking for missing Rock Candy reissues to complete collections, and here’s as requested their remastered version of  EDDIE MONEY‘s “No Control“, one of his best albums from the Eighties with that wonderful 1982’s US Melodic Rock / AOR sound.
MONEY’s life was turned upside down by the runaway success of his self-titled debut album. The fast-talkin’ New Yorker spent fifteen years chasing his dreams of Rock stardom, first in bands on his native East Coast, then right across the other side of the country following a move to Berkeley, California.
The two following LP’s certainly set the scene: panoramic American Melodic Rock filled with memorable hooks supporting an instantly identifiable rasp.
It was a tailor made sound that perfectly fitted the American airwaves at the beginning of the Eighties sitting comfortably besides music from the likes of Boston, Foreigner and Journey…
