Legendary British act TYGERS OF PAN TANG will release tomorrow their new, self-titled album on LP, limited picture LP, CD and through all digital services. “Tygers Of Pan Tang” is the first with their new label Mighty Music.
This is some kind of landmark album for the Tygers; self-titled, self-produced, and with a fresh inked record deal after many years indie.
And the best part of it is that “Tygers Of Pan Tang” includes not only some of the best songs in the band’s career, but also some of the best had rock tunes you’ll hear this years.

Tygers Of Pan Tang were pioneers of the NWOBHM scene, with their sound morphing according to times. This new album 2016 finds the band creating a classic blend of traditional hard rock, feel god songs at places, with a melodic hard rock vibe.
That’s not surprising seeing Harry Hess of Harem Scarem mastering the album, and talented guitarist / producer Søren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Mike Tramp) mixing the whole thing.

Kicking off with first single ‘Only The Brave’, one of the biggest surprises I’ve had all year is how good Tygers Of Pan Tang sound in 2016. It’s great, solid, traditional Hard Rock, great musically, great vocally and with a nice driving beat that makes you want to follow it deeper.
Signing with Mighty Music earlier in the year what you get here are the fruits of a very productive period of songwriting for the band in late 2015, helped by a lot of shows all over the world which obviously oiled the group as a strong unit.

There’s plenty of other tracks to get stuck into here: the punchy ‘Dust’, the groovy ‘Glad Rags’ (complete with cowbell), the melodic hard rocker ‘Blood Red Sky’ and closer ‘The Devil You Know’ all have that remarkable echo of the band of old but with a cleaner, modern pristine sound; whilst there’s fire in the belly for the faster numbers ‘Never Give In’ and ‘Do It Again’.
Elsewhere the party of ‘I Got the Music in Me’ is good fun; and the band delivers an exquisite ballad in ‘The Reason Why’, that kind of classy midtempo to die for.

Tygers Of Pan Tang have been around the block for a while, never releasing a bad album. And take for sure that “Tygers Of Pan Tang” is among the best of their career. This new album is punchy, plenty of catchy choruses and kick ass riffs, and yes, some terrific songs.
The overall sound is awesome, a mouth watering for all ’80s classic Hard Rock / Melodic Hard Rock fans. Think Whitesnake 1987, Blue Murder, Burning Rain, etc.
One of the surprises of the year… yeah, it’s that good.
