Tired of hearing about Greta Van Fleet, The Struts, and Rival Sons as the chief runners in the rock revivalist category? Well, 20-year-old J.T. LOUX with his thick bleeding guitar tones and fervently emotive vocals deserves a roster spot on the return to classic rock savior list.
The guitar-centric singer/songwriter Loux, released his new LP ”Taken by Moonlight” this spring, teamed up with producer Frank Hannon of Tesla. This boisterous album contains eight brand new songs that the band has written and recorded throughout this past year.
J.T. and his skilled band (a trio) delivers a mix of classic rock, heavy blues, passionate funky soul, etc here, but they excels when they rock hard as on ‘Sick & Twisted’…

TESLA – Psychotic Supper [Bad Reputation 2-CD remaster / 11 bonus tracks]

French reissue label Bad Reputation has been doing a great job releasing ‘Collector Series / Remastered with Bonus‘, with the main attraction being, on most releases, the addition of a bonus disc, making these reissues the ‘definitive expanded versions’. In a Rock Candy Records fashion, these are official remasters in arrangement with the original recording companies.
In the case of TESLA‘s “Psychotic Supper” (for many, their finest moment), we have the main album remastered plus an extra CD with hard to find songs…

MOON DOG MANE (Frank Hannon) – Turn It Up! [rare promo CD]

As requested, here’s “Turn It Up!”, the only album released by MOON DOG MANE, the band formed by Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon when he left the band. This is the rare promo-only CD distributed to radio stations to test the water.
Two songs got strong airplay on US rock radio, so Hannon decided to release the album with different artwork and the title track peaked at No. 36 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, and “I Believe” peaked at No. 38.
“Turn It Up!” is a great collection of gritty, melodic radio-ready rock songs that not only feature Hannon’s famous guitar style, but also handling keyboards, producing, mixing and mastering.

Produced and co-written by Tesla’s Frank Hannon (who also play on the recording), “Storyteller” is is the new album from GREG GOLDEN BAND. Mixing US bluesy hard rock and classic rock melodies from the Seventies and Eighties, the Greg Golden Band rocks with that rare vintage vibe that seems lost in most current retro-rock revival acts.
Trixter’s Steve Brown also appears as guest, but switching from guitar to drums here. And we have a rollicking version of Rainbow’s ‘Man On The Silver Mountain’ as bonus too.
