Mechanical Resonance” is the cracking debut album by TESLA, reissued in Japan on SHM-CD in remastered form. This was the only, Limited Release of the first 5 Tesla albums on SHM-CD now out of print and fetching high prices on eBay.
Tesla came out of the gates with everything in its right place: a major label (Geffen), great producers (Thompson & Barbiero) and the best management you could ask for (Q Prime). The band were and are all top drawer musicians, and they had a batch of killer rootsy hard rock ready to record. Ready, set, go!
When Tesla’s debut “Mechanical Resonance” was released in December 1986, it made a major impact among the dominating glammy hard rock scene.

TESLA – Psychotic Supper [Bad Reputation 2-CD remaster / 11 bonus tracks]

French reissue label Bad Reputation has been doing a great job releasing ‘Collector Series / Remastered with Bonus‘, with the main attraction being, on most releases, the addition of a bonus disc, making these reissues the ‘definitive expanded versions’. In a Rock Candy Records fashion, these are official remasters in arrangement with the original recording companies.

MOON DOG MANE (Frank Hannon) – Turn It Up! [rare promo CD]

As requested, here’s “Turn It Up!”, the only album released by MOON DOG MANE, the band formed by Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon when he left the band. This is the rare promo-only CD distributed to radio stations to test the water.
Two songs got strong airplay on US rock radio, so Hannon decided to release the album with different artwork and the title track peaked at No. 36 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, and “I Believe” peaked at No. 38.
“Turn It Up!” is a great collection of gritty, melodic radio-ready rock songs that not only feature Hannon’s famous guitar style, but also handling keyboards, producing, mixing and mastering.
