H.E.A.T – Extra Force (2023)

After hymns of praise from media and fans for their latest album ‘Force Majeure’, Swedish heirs of ’80s Melodic Hard Rock H.E.A.T promise to deliver more of the same catchiness with their follow-up “Extra Force“, to be released next September 1st. Everyone who has seen them live knows these guys give everything on stage. “Extra Force” feature 2022 live recorded tracks capturing the energy of their dynamic live performances.
The release also contains two unreleased studio tracks – the empowering anthem “Freedom” and the sentimental ballad “Will You Be”. Last year’s most significant change to the band’s line-up is the return of original singer Kenny Leckremo – “Extra Force” for the first time includes tracks previously sung by Erik Gronwall now with Kenny on vocals.
The new studio tracks are killers, a proof that H.E.A.T with Kenny Leckremo on vocals is the real deal. Kenny’s new versions on ‘Rise’ and ‘One by One’ also showcase the H.E.A.T songwriting perfectly fits his pipes.
No doubt among the best Melodic Hard Rock acts out there, H.E.A.T never disappoints…

SOEN – Memorial (2023) HQ

The provocative, engaging Swedish-based metal group SOEN will release their new album ”Memorial” September 1st. Few bands hit the emotions in the same way that Soen do. ”Memorial” retains that huge cinematic soundscape the band has crafted over their career. But they’ve incorporated a heavier element into their sound creating an album that is likely to challenge a few top tens come the end of 2023.
Results that ”Memorial” is much more melodic than your regular prog metal album. And while there’s a ‘heavier’ delivery this is done using hard rock groove and catchy punch, an album that has enormous commercial potential and will please a wide range of listeners.
The songs are short,, but Soen cram everything into each one. The quality is unquestionable, the tempo carefully measured, with the haunting and evocative style richly drenching each track…

MOTORHEAD / LEMMY / LARRY WALLIS – The Boys Of Ladbroke Grove (2023)

All these rare tracks sound quality is very good with a clean remastering, and the new 2023 mixes benefits the most vintage part of the material on offer. This CD version includes extra, bonus tracks…

FIREWIND – Still Raging (2023)

Following their latest, self-titled studio album in 2020, hard rock / metal force FIREWIND are about to release their 20th anniversary live album titled ‘Still Raging‘. Since more than twenty years, the band founded by exceptional guitarist Gus G (Ozzy Osbourne, Arch Enemy, Dream Evil) enthralls heavy music fans with their exciting blend of hard rock and power metal. Razor-sharp riffs, big hooks and solos meet the incredible vocal skills of charismatic singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, Seventh Avenue, amongst others), who joined the band in 2019.
“It’s hard to believe that a band like Firewind has been around for 2 decades,” Gus G comments. “In 2022 we had only planned a re-issue of our debut album, but with the pandemic slowly winding down, we were fortunate enough to start doing shows in America and Europe again. Come Fall of 2022 we played 2 headline shows in our homeland, Greece to celebrate our 20th anniversary.”
On “Still Raging” FIREWIND performs all their best songs, and to be honest, these fresh live takes sound better than the original studio versions. This band rocks on stage, and it shows…

PRIMAL FEAR – Code Red (2023)

German power metal stalwarts PRIMAL FEAR are ready to release their new album “Code Red” for September 1st, 2023.
Following the success of their latest album Metal Commando (which became the band’s highest charting ever with several top 10 Rock chart entries in 2020), the new album offers everything you love Primal Fear for: the soaring, unmistakable vocals of shouter Ralf Scheepers, huge riffs (3 guitarist!), powerful rhythm section, great melodies, catchy choruses and the huge wall of sound (again mixed by Jacob Hansen).
However, “Code Red” also demonstrates that Primal Fear are not afraid to take risks, mixing keyboards and clichés, synths and sound effects with the traditional elements of their brand of metal to produce something good, something dynamic, and above all something that will appeal.
This album will appeal, not to the masses, but rather to the masses of metal fans who are hungry for more of what they have come to expect from this band…

BOUNCE THE OCEAN – Treasure [1990-91 re-mixed / re-mastered / unreleased] (2023)

BOUNCE THE OCEAN formed in the early 1990s by Hawk Bjorn (a born-and-bred Swede) and John Utter (a Washingtonian, also of Scandinavian heritage) who became friends at college in Walla Walla, Washington. Their self-titled album 1991’s “Bounce The Ocean” produced by Steve Berlin, Michael Omartian and Glen Ballard yielded a Billboard-charting single in “Throw It All Away” and a radio hit in “Wasting My Time”, selling over a quarter-million copies.
Featuring top class musicians such as Michael Thompson (guitar), O’Martian (keyboards), Kenny Aronoff (drums), Neil, etc, with its ’80s poppy-rock sound spiced with West Coast AOR breeze “Bounce The Ocean” became a obligatory item into fans of the genre collections.
Now 2023 Bjorn & Utter joined again, recorded a new song and completely re-mixed / remastered the original album, and with the addition of a never before heard track from the original sessions plus unreleased songs / demos, are releasing all these under the title “Treasure“…

LEATHERWOLF – Street Ready [Digitally Remastered +2] Out Of Print

The first 3 albums from LEATHERWOLF are among the best ’80s US metal / hard rock had to offer. One of you asked if these have been remastered, and the answer, after some investigation, is ‘yes’.
The only remastered versions were done by the band themselves, sold via their own label Leatherwolf Records during the last decade, and available in limited quantities, now out of print.
Street Ready is Leatherwolf’s third album released in 1989, and according to times, is pretty much hard rock oriented with a polished production sound.
While not well known by casual ’80s metal / hard rock enthusiast, Leatherwolf are a killer band. Maybe they were a bit too heavy for the massive audience, but they could have easily reached, for example, any W.A.S.P., Fifth Angel or even Dokken fan.
The had everything; great songs, an outstanding guitar team with triple (!) axe attack (the intro for the opening “Wicked Ways” speaks for itself), a powerful sound…

AEROSMITH – Toys In The Attic [remastered from the original tapes] (2023) HQ *0dayrox Exclusive*

If you thought you heard all AEROSMITH, you better keep reading. We already featured at 0dayrox all AEROSMITH classic first era albums in its Japanese Blu-Spec CD2 pressing, the best sounding version you could get… until now.
Those Japan releases used the 1993 remastering job, which are good, but wait to listen to this new 2023 CD release of AEROSMITH‘s third album ”Toys In The Attic” featuring a new remaster – this simply blows out of the water anything you heard before.
Housed into transparent jewel case and discrete artwork – poor, if you ask – oddly, the back cover art states this is the 1993 20-bit remaster. Someone must have forgotten to scrub it before it went to the printers.
Anyway, what matters in this fresh 2023 release of “Toys In The Attic” is the awesome, pristine warm sound of this CD. You’d never heard this album so dynamic, the sharp guitars, the clear voice of Steven. And it isn’t ‘quiet’ at all – it’s potent yet not distorted.
So yes folks, this is the definitive version of “Toys In The Attic”, featured in exclusive at 0dayrox...
