CRASH STREET / RAZOR SHARP – Archives [Deluxe Edition / Retrospect] *HQ*

As requested here’s the compilation from New Jersey ’80s band RAZOR SHARP later re-branded CRASH STREET. Titled “Archives” and originally released by Retrospect Records, the disc is a compendium of all eras from the band since the early ’80s. As the Retrospect CD went sold out, the band themselves re-released this as “Archives [Deluxe Edition]” including extra tracks.
The track listing includes recordings from two RAZOR SHARP line ups, and one as CRASH STREET which is different from the one that is featured in the CRASH STREET standalone album also released by Retrospect and featured at 0dayrox in other post.

So we find three 3 different vocalists, and slightly different musical styles too. Our favorite is RAZOR SHARP early 1984-1985 demos, melodic hard rock with that great rhythm from the time with keyboard stabs all over. One of these tracks was included into ”New Jersey Rock III”, a Various Artists LP organized by WDHA radio.
Other tracks are more late Eighties melodic rock, others with a pinch of hair metal, and a couple with a Nineties feel. Sure, these are demos, but quality is enough to appreciate this band potential: the songs are very good. CRASH STREET / RAZOR SHARP got everything to make it big and a record deal almost secured, however a legal dispute with their manager ruined their plans.
