GUN – Frantic (Live)

Scottish rockers GUN just released their new album featured here few days ago and are ready for a tour. One of you requested this ”Frantic – Live” release, recorded at the famous Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom while the band presented the album of the same title.
Produced by Simon Bloor and mixed by Cameron Gower Poole ‘Frantic – Live’ features 16 tracks, and captures the incredible atmosphere of a hometown show only GUN can deliver. It’s a very anthemic set of songs with a true lively sound.
At the time Gun returned to the kind of guitar-driven rock music that made us all fall in love with the band in the first place. On this show the band have got their swagger back, something that lead to a co-headline tour with Black Star Riders.

GUN – ‘Word Up 2022’ EP

Glaswegian rockers GUN are back with today’s release of the advance EP ”Word Up 2022”, from the forthcoming full album ‘The Calton Songs’ (Cherry Red Records, October 14).
This massive, catchy track ‘Word Up’ was originally covered by GUN in 1994, winning an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Cover and featuring on the Top 5 album ‘Swagger’. The song itself is of course a retooled version of the evergreen Cameo hit from 1986, but now in 2022 it has been reimagined and revived and sounds amazing.
New album ‘The Calton Songs’ is a full-blooded celebration of the band’s career so far, with enthusiastic and brand new acoustic re-interpretations of the songs that made their name.
The EP includes two more tracks from the upcoming CD, bolstered by ‘Backstreet Brothers’, a new and fully electric track that basks in the joys of both lives and good times shared, and brings the GUN story up to date. This fun, melodic rocking new tune worth the EP alone…
