KEN HENSLEY – My Book Of Answers (2021)

Last November, Uriah Heep keyboard player and chief songwriter KEN HENSLEY passed away peacefully following a very short illness. But he already finished his last album, “My Book Of Answers“, now posthumous released by Hear No Evil / Cherry Red Records.
Hensley was one of the most important Rock musicians of the past half-a-century. His work with Uriah Heep in the 1970s helped to make the band hugely influential. He also collaborated with bands such as Blackfoot, W.A.S.P. and Cinderella, as well as building a very successful solo career. As a writer he was responsible for such classics as ‘Lady In Black’, ‘Easy Livin”, “July Morning” and ‘Look At Yourself’. Few artists can claim to have had a musical career and pedigree as long, varied and impressive…

TREVOR BOLDER (Uriah Heep) – Sail The Rivers (2020-2021)

TREVOR BOLDER was one the of the finest bass players from the British classic rock scene, being one of the Spiders from Mars in Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust days, part of Wishbone Ash, Mick Ronson solo stuff, and a long tenure with Uriah Heep where his vocal talents were also utilised to great effect.
Before his untimely death in 2013, Trevor had been working on a solo album which, thanks to the magic of technology and some musical friends can now see the light of day under the title “Sail The Rivers“, presented last Xmas and now available via Cherry Red Records.
With a top notch line up including drummer Lee Kerslake (Ozzy, and who worked with Trevor in Uriah Heep and also) sadly no longer with us too, Mr Heep himself Mick Box) & Wishbone Ash’s Laurie Wisefield on guitar, and the very good Derk Gallagher who share lead vocals with Trevor.
This is timeless Classic Rock with a certain Hard Rock edge, and a sound & style similar to early Whitesnake, ’80s Bad Company / Uriah Heep, etc, plenty of melody and showcasing that Boder was more than a bass player – a fine singer and songwriter to boot as well… read more–>

URIAH HEEP (feat. Peter Goalby) – Equator [Rock Candy Remastered +4] (25th Anniversary Expanded Edition)

As requested here’s the remastered version including 4 bonus tracks of URIAH HEEP‘s mid-Eighties album “Equator“. Although not credited due to legal reasons, this is a Rock Candy Records production, with Andy Pearce remastering and featuring artwork / booklet in the label’s habitual fashion.
“Equator” resulted very hard to find for years as the band originally released this album via a new record label, Portrait Records, a subsidiary of CBS. In the 90s many record companies resulted interested in a reissue, but CBS / Sony wanted an extortionate sum for the rights. So “Equator” had to way 25 years for this Expanded Edition remastered, finally released by Cherry Red UK.
Musically, this is not your classic Seventies’ URIAH HEEP. It was 1985, the sound here is slick, commercial polished melodic hard rock produced by Tony Platt (Foreigner).
Indeed, “Equator” feels like mix of ’80s Bad Company when Brian Howe was the vocalist, and Foreigner. Remastered and the 16-page booklet are excellent.
