VIOLET JANINE – Queen Of Rock (2020) *EXCLUSIVE*

‘Between Red And Blue’, the debut album from VIOLET JANINE, surprised us with its quality, so much that was chosen by 0dayrox team as ‘Best Debut Album 2016’.
The project worked to launch talented female singer Janine Nyman as solo artist, with everything conducted by lead guitarist / songwriter / producer Daniel Palmquist, a guy that has been around the block of melodic rock for some time.
Now 2020, VIOLET JANINE operates as a full 6-piece band, and have been releasing standalone singles (the trend of the moment) while preparing a full length new album. Here we have all these new songs (5) plus their full debut.

Here’s a rare piece for all of you collectors and classic hard rock fans; COOPER / RAREBELL collaboration recordings from the ’80s. These cats are British guitarist David Cooper and German drummer Herman Rarebell, with songs put on tape in the first half of the ’80s.
While many of these tunes were re-recorded (while the drummer was still member of Scorpions) for Rarebell’s solo album ‘Herman Ze German & Friends’, the tracks featured here are the professionally recorded demos that Cooper / Rarebell did while they had new written songs.
Among the guests there’s on lead vocals Great White’s Jack Russell, Ted Nugent’s Charlie Huhn, Don Dokken, and Humble Pie’s Steve Marriott, Ratt’s Juan Croucier on bass, New England’s Gary Shea, and more.
As extras, we have as well some David Cooper’s own songs with Herman Rarebell performing all drums.

We have featured here the entire AC/DC‘s remastered 2020 reissues in a Hi-Resolution Audio, and while the band’s last studio album “Rock Or Bust” wasn’t remastered for these series, some of you asked for the HDtracks / Hi-Res release anyway.
The master is the same from the regular CD release, however, the files are taken from 96kHz / 24 bit tapes, and believe me, they sound fantastic.

LYNCH MOB – Wicked Sensation [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

One of the greatest Hard Rock albums from the 1987-1992 golden period is without a doubt the debut from LYNCH MOB, the band formed by guitar wizard George Lynch after his departure from Dokken.
Wicked Sensation” has been reissued by Rock Candy, and their remaster is top notch.
It was hardly a surprise when Lynch announced his departure from Dokken, the band he’d enjoyed enormous success with during the eighties. The fact that Don Dokken and George Lynch were at loggerheads for much of that time was no secret, so the split was, in many respects, inevitable.
For George it was a chance to strike out on his own, assembling a handpicked unit that retained the services of fellow Dokken drummer Mick Brown with the addition of

TASKAHA – Taskaha (2020)

TASKAHA is a new progressive band hailing from Norway. Their self-titled debut album “Taskaha” contains a vast soundscape of songs that will take you from rocking territory to the most fragile, delicate and intimate self-reflective songs.
“Taskaha” isn’t just another Prog release; the guys take progressive elements drawing inspiration from the greats mixing it with a melodic rock feel, making the sound their own.
This is a must-have release for the Prog fan, and dare we say, for the all Rock fans in general, ranging from melodic hard rockers to power rock&pop. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this band. The record is a little masterpiece that will be hard to beat with a sophomore release.
One of the best debuts this year without a doubt, HIGHLY Recommended for sure.

LYNCH MOB – Wicked Sensation Reimagined [30th anniversary edition] (2020)

Hard rock veterans LYNCH MOB will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their seminal album “Wicked Sensation” with a special limited print/deluxe anniversary edition: “Wicked Sensation Reimagined” features re-worked and re-recorded versions of their classic songs.
The original twelve-track album, released in October 1990, is considered by many to be sacred and perfect the way it was. The idea of remaking it was not something Oni Logan or George Lynch took lightly.
“The term ‘re-record’ makes me cringe; this is not that,” explains Lynch. “We re-invented the wheel on this record. It’s really a different animal than the original! Fans won’t be disappointed!”
With the help of Robbie Crane (BLACK STAR RIDERS) on bass and Brian Tichy on drums, Lynch and Logan bring passion and power into these newly created arrangements; some that take nothing away from the old versions but bring new light and magic to the material. The songs continue to sound as fresh and timeless and will be ready to garner a whole new legion of fans for the next thirty years.

DOKKEN – The Lost Songs 1978-1981 (2020)

DOKKEN will release an album called “The Lost Songs: 1978-1981” on August 28 via Silver Lining Music. It was during those vital years that a young, motivated Dokken from Southern California stepped into Media Arts Studio in Redondo Beach to lay down some unfiltered, unpasteurized rock ‘n’ roll songs. He then brought those with him to Hamburg, Germany where Dokken (influenced by the likes of Scorpions) forged a historic alliance, working with a young German producer called Michael Wagener, who would later help craft multi-million selling albums for the likes of Motley Crüe, Metallica, and Skid Row – as well as Dokken.
From the sunbaked SoCal hook of “Step Into The Light” to the “Back In The Streets” furious, fledgling, late- Sunset Strip sound, “The Lost Songs: 1978-1981” shows Dokken in the unfettered early days of balls-out attitude, as well as showcasing the song-writing skills which would see them sell over 10 million albums and him become an international rock ‘n’ roll star.

JOHN PETRUCCI – Terminal Velocity (2020)

JOHN PETRUCCI‘s ”Terminal Velocity” marks the first solo album by the world-renowned Dream Theater guitarist to be released since 2005’s Suspended Animation. Written and produced by Petrucci, the album sees the return of bassist Dave LaRue, who played on John’s debut solo album and subsequent G3 tours, as well as, an eagerly anticipated reunion with former Dream Theater Mike Portnoy, who performed all drums.
The 9 songs on ”Terminal Velocity” showcase John’s affinity for writing tightly-weaved guitar instrumental powerhouses that feature everything from monster riff breaks to passion-filled melodic themes and all-out shred extravaganzas.
