HOUSE OF LORDS – ST [Axe Killer / Bad Reputation remaster Ltd. Edition +1] Out Of Print

This classic melodic hard rock piece has been requested over and over, HOUSE OF LORDS self-titled awsome debut album. This is the really good and hard to find remastered version by Axe Killer Records (now re-branded Bad Reputation).
Essential into any ’80s Melodic Hard Rock / AOR collection, this reissue of “House Of Lords” includes a bonus track, a different, remixed version of the song ‘Love Don’t Lie’, written by the great Stan Bush.
Formed from the ashes of Giuffria, featuring keyboardist Gregg Giuffria, House Of Lords signed a deal with Kiss bassist Gene Simmons’ own label (and distributed by RCA Records) for two albums.
Nobody was calling them a “supergroup”, but most of the members had been around the block more than once, as example vocalist James Christian who worked for many as background singer and songwriter…

HOUSE OF LORDS – The Unreleased & The Bonus Tracks – 0dayrox own compilation

As requested, here’s some unreleased HOUSE OF LORDS material.
After a long hiatus, leader James Christian started to plan the return of the band at the beginning of the new Millennium. This was materialized with the album The Power And The Myth released in 2004, a record with more progressive orientation that disappointed first time fans.
The genesis of the album, or better, the HOL return, was in fact inspired by the sound & style of its origins, and the proof are these demos recorded around 2001, later discarded.
Songs like the punchy ‘Shotgun Doctor’ is driven by a sharp guitar riff akin House Of Lords’ second album Sahara, midtempo ‘After The Love Is Gone’ has great atmospheres akin the first, same with the pulsating ‘Angel Of The City’, which in fact was written in the ’80s.
‘Hero’s Song’ was included into the recently featured here ‘Anthology’, and ‘Love Can Build A Bridge’ is a midtempo ballad with acoustic guitars into the mix in the classic HOL style of the beginning…

EYES (Jeff Scott Soto, James Christian & more) – LA Rocks [Japan AOR Moon Collectors]

Few days ago we featured the 2-CD release of EYES featuring Jeff Scott Soto. Many of your have been asking for more JSS, so here’s from the awesome Japan AOR Moon Collectors series, the “LA Rocks” compilation.
Since the mid-80s, “LA Rocks” was a Californian collective (also known as ‘Eyes’) including several members from renowned hard rock bands, such as Marcel Jacob (Yngwie Malmsteen), Michael Dorian (Lillian Axe), Chuck Wright (Giuffria, House Of Lords, Quiet Riot), Jimmy O’Shea (Cacophony), Jeff Naideau (Life By Night) and many more. Even Mike Porcaro (Toto) collaborated with them.
There were several singers as well, including Jeff Scott Soto but also James Christian, Jim Wilkinson (later famous as Jizzy Pearl) and Malice’s Mark Weitz. Good sound demos from all are included here.
Later Soto took the name ‘Eyes’ for the band of the same name which managed to release official material included into the 2-CD we featured at 0dayrox. On this Japan AOR Moon Collectors disc there’s also a rare live recording from that line-up.
There are demos, but darn awesome.
