MARCIE FREE – Tormented +3 Unreleased [Marciefree.com Records reissue]

As requested by many, here’s Mark Free/ MARCIE FREE solo album “Tormented“, but in its reissue done by Marcie herself via his own label Marciefree.com Records, including 3 collectible previously unreleased tracks and new artwork.
This was a very limited press not sold at stores, a mega-rarity / collectors item.
“Tormented” is Marcie Free / Mark Free 2nd official solo album. It was released originally only released in Germany and Japan back in the mid 90’s with 2 different covers. Later Marcie re-released it with this different cover pictured here. All 3 versions are now OUT OF PRINT, and hard to find, this one being sold for over $200.
Musically the sound & style of “Tormented” is pretty similar to UNRULY CHILD first, self-titled CD. Indeed, ”Tormented” is pretty much a re-branded ‘Unruly Child’ album, all the tracks were written by Marcie Free / Bruce Gowdy / Guy Allison…

MARCIE FREE – Say It Like You Mean It (2021) *0dayrox Exclusive*

MARCIE FREE is releasing today ”Say It Like You Mean It”, a new song recorded 2021 and composed by ’80s legendary songwriter Robin Randall and Bill LaFleur, with talented Jeff Silverman (Jimi Jamison) among the session musicians.
According to Robin Randall; “this song started with a clothing ad I got in an email, subject line “Say It Like You Mean It”, which has nothing to do with clothing or fashion, but I thought it would make a good title. I gave it to Bill who happened to be watching a film called “The Mephisto Waltz” and got a lyric inspiration from that. The music came pretty quick after, and I showed it to Bill and we both worked it out at the piano. Actions speak louder than words.”

MARK FREE – Changin’ Times [The Unreleased ’90s Album] *0dayrox Exclusive*

After the quite successful stint with AOR giants Signal, MARK FREE continued working as ‘hired gun’ vocalist for various songwriters, as well as thinking between retirement from the music business or start a solo career. Additionally, some other personal changes were taking place.
The songs featured here on “Changin’ Times” were recorded by Free in the early ’90s, pre-production demos in very good quality audio for an album that never was.

MARK FREE – Judithe & Robin Randall demos (0dayrox compilation)

So here we go with the request by many, MARK FREE‘s recordings as ‘hired voice’ for songwriters Judithe & Robin Randall. Most of these tracks were recorded at the time between Mark left King Kobra and formed Signal: ’87/ ’88 / ’89.
Free was working as a driver for a courier service in L.A. and in the meantime he met songwriters Judithe and Robin Randall. Once they hired Mark to sing their demos, they started telling all their other writer friends in California about his vocal duties and the phone started ringing.
“I needed the money really bad so I started singing demos for people. It really helped me to develop further my ability to sing in the studio and I was being paid for it”, said Free.
All the songs into this compilation revolve around classic US 80s AOR and rock&pop with melody, demonstrating the diversity, ductility and amplitude of Mark Free as performer. You also can hear on some tracks Robin Randall’s own voice – and the great Diana DeWitt too – doing backing vocals.
There’s some extra material too (all AOR), such as “Your Wild Ways”, the first song Mark Free ever sang for the Canadian songwriting team David Tyson / Christopher Ward.
The sound quality is pretty good, and Free’s golden vocals are perfectly heard…

MARK FREE – Long Way From Love [Frontiers 2-CD remastered reissue] Out Of Print

This is another request, the expanded 2CD, remastered reissue of Long Way From Love”, the first official MARK FREE solo album. A must have in your AOR collection, this is easily among the best 10 albums from the genre released during the Nineties.
We could say that “Long Way From Love” is that kind of rare jewels you need to keep. With the help of uber talented duo mother-daughter Robin Randall & Judithe Randall to co-write, Free delivers here some of his finest songs.
The album however opens with a killer version of ‘Someday You’ll Come Running’ – a song by British AORsters FM and also recorded by Airkraft.
This remastered reissue by Frontiers Music has ‘cleaned & enhanced’ the whole thing, but the real interest comes with the awesome bonus disc. Features Mark Free’s performance at The Godz festival – very, very enjoyable – and a bunch of treasurable previously unreleased tracks.
