BLACKMORE’s NIGHT – To The Moon & Back 20 Years & Beyond [2-CD Japanese Edition]

On occasion of its 20th anniversary, BLACKMORE’S NIGHT – the internationally heralded Renaissance rock band helmed by six-string extraordinaire Ritchie Blackmore and his wife, vocalist / multi-instrumentalist Candice Night – released “To The Moon And Back: 20 Years And Beyond…“, a two-disc collection of favorites, new material, and some Rainbow stuff.
‘Shadow Of The Moon’ was Blackmore’s Night debut album and since then, Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple, Rainbow) and his muse and meanwhile wife Candice Night have been creating a symbiosis of medieval melodies, mystical lyrics and modern musical arrangements with a rock vibe…

BLACKMORE’S NIGHT – Nature’s Light (2021)

“Our music is an escape from the stress and pressure of modern times. Journey back through time with us, to a simpler, magical time where music enters your heart and soul”, say Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore.
The ten new tracks of BLACKMORE’S NIGHT new album ”Nature’s Light” are just that, a mixture of melodic, vintage stuff that could only have been written by Ritchie and Candice.
Once again, the duo is able to mix the tradition of British Folk music and love for the Renaissance sound with their style, inspired by myths and legends of ancient times. Escapism reaching towards an ideal beauty found in different time.
While the album is rooted in a traditional approach, fans of Ritchie Blackmore’s unique style will once again not be disappointed. Heartfelt ballads such as a brand-new version of ‘Wish You Were Here’ set the scene for magical tales on ‘Four Winds’ and ‘The Twisted Oak’. For the two instrumental tracks – ‘Darker Shade Of Black’ and ‘Der letzte Musketier’ – Ritchie shows that his unmistakable Fender Stratocaster guitar sound is still magic as it always was…

DEEP PURPLE – Burn [30th Anniversary SHM-CD remastered] (2016)

Warner Music Japan has just reissued DEEP PURPLE‘s classic album “Burn“, the 30th Anniversary Remastered Edition appeared in 2004 with bonus tracks, for the first time on SHM-CD, and at a very affordable price.
Simply put, this is one of the best hard rock albums of all time.
Up until “Burn”, Deep Purple had been a wonderfully oiled heavy rock outfit capable of outstanding brilliance and a string of classic albums; In Rock, Machine Head and Made In Japan. With the loss of Roger Glover and vocalist Ian Gillan (both left the group) most bands would have folded or imported others of superstar status – Paul Rogers and Phil Lynott were on the shopping list.
But instead, Purple recruited two relative unknowns; Glen Hughes from the up n’ coming Trapeze, and David Coverdale, an assistant in a Yorkshire menswear shop.
The result, a cataclysmic implosion of styles as hard rock met blues and funk to produce one of the finest Rock albums of the mid Seventies. A template for a more commercial approach to rock that many, including Whitesnake and Rainbow, would later successfully follow.

But Blackmore decided already years ago to focus on mainly acoustic, folk medieval music mixed with...
