We are focusing now on the new 2022 remix “Holy Diver”, also released as standalone album.
Holy Diver (Joe Barresi Remix)” has been remixed by engineer Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age) taking as source the original master tapes. Cover art is also newly done by longtime Dio artist, Marc Sasso.
The results? In our opinion are excellent.
With this 2022 remix ‘Holy Diver’ has been benefited by a rich, defined sound of the whole instrumentation in the mid-range of the sonic spectrum, and Ronnie’s vocals are clearer – something like ‘floating’ into your ears.
Wendy Dio said about the reasoning behind this Holy Diver new remix:

DIO – On Wings Of Fire [Live Santa Monica 1983]

As requested, here’s “On Wings Of Fire“, the live recording which documents one of the very early DIO shows ever, recorded in the October of 1983 just three months after their first live performance.
On this tour of course the band played with a lot of different acts – at the onset supporting AEROSMITH, then after the MONSTERS OF ROCK show at CASTLE DONINGTON, they returned to the US and played with, among others: Y&T, ROUGH CUTT, QUEENSRYCHE, and WAYSTED.
During this first DIO tour there were a few set-list changes along the way, with songs being added and switched around. Sadly this set is considerably shorter than the tour closing release with a few gems missing.
It is interesting though to have the original ‘radio intro’ still left in – a lung busting scream leading into the opener ‘Stand Up And Shout’…

DIO – Live Philadelphia ’84 [Japan release / Full Show / Remastered] (2019) *0dayrox EXCLUSIVE*

Japanese specialized label “Alive The Live” is doing a very nice job making available on CD for the first time recordings from major acts originally aired by the legendary King Biscuit Flower Hour FM Radioshow. “DIO – Live Philadelphia ’84” captures Ronnie at his peak and with it’s considered his best band; Vivian Campbell on guitars, Jimmy Bain on bass, drummer Vinny Appice and Claude Schnell on keyboards.
There’s some bootlegs but incomplete, this is the full show, 12 songs in its entirety.
As part of the “Last In Line Tour, “DIO – Live Philadelphia ’84” took place on August 25, 1984.
The set list is pure DIO gold, including ‘Stand Up And Shout’, ‘One Night In The City’, ‘Don’t Talk To Strangers’, ‘Mystery’, ‘We Rock’, ‘The Last In Line’, the awesome Rainbow in the Dark’, etc.
There’s also an excellent take on Sabbath’s ‘Heaven And Hell’ (an extended version featuring a killer Campbell solo) and of course a Rainbow medley of ‘The Man On The Silver Mountain / Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll’…

DIO – The Ronnie James Dio Story; Mightier Than The Sword [Japan 2xSHM-CD Edition] *HQ*

The depth of loss felt within the Rock and Metal communities by the passing of Ronnie James Dio on the 16th May 2010 was immense, and is testament to the high esteem with which the man and his legacy is held. As a fitting reminder of this legacy, “The Ronnie James Dio Story : Mightier Than The Sword” is a fantastic a 2-disc collection celebrating over three decades of music from one of the greatest vocalists in the entire history of Hard Rock / Metal.
This Japanese edition on SHM-CD simply sounds awesome, perfect mastering bringing all the details of these amazing songs.

BLACK SABBATH – Heaven and Hell [Remastered Deluxe Edition] (2021)

The first two Ronnie James Dio-fronted BLACK SABBATH albums, 1980’s Heaven and Hell and 1981’s Mob Rules, are receiving deluxe reissues via Rhino Records, expanded with bonus material.
The star of “Heaven and Hell [Remastered Deluxe Edition]” is the 2021 remaster of the main album. While there’s a bonus disc with a great live recording form the album’s tour, it’s the sonic treatment of the studio tracks which shine here.
It’s the one and only R.J.DIO heard clear as never before, and the album, it’s simply one of the best metal LP in history, perhaps the best in BLACK SABBATH’s career.

BLACK SABBATH – Mob Rules [Remastered Deluxe Edition] (2021)

The first two Ronnie James Dio-fronted BLACK SABBATH albums, 1980’s Heaven and Hell and 1981’s Mob Rules, are receiving deluxe reissues via Rhino Records, expanded with bonus material.
This “Mob Rules [Remastered Deluxe Edition]” 2021 it’s really ‘expanded’, not only with a fresh, crisp remastering job but also juicy bonus tracks like ‘The Mob Rules (Heavy Metal Soundtrack Version)’, or the special version for this release of ‘The Mob Rules (2019 Remix).
We have a lot of live cuts showcasing how powerful this BLACK SABBATH version was – now including skin-hitter Vinny Appice – an entire concert recorded in 1982 in Portland, OR. Highlights include stellar performances of “Neon Knights” “Heaven And Hell” and “Voodoo.”
Dio’s soaring tenor and gothic songwriting were the perfect foil for the band’s bone-crushing mix of razor-sharp riffs, intense grooves, and dark imagery. This was his last album with Sabbath before starting his successful solo career, and what a way to say goodbye; “The Mob Rules” kills.

DIO – Evil Or Divine ~ Live In New York City [Digitally Remastered +2] (2021)

Wendy Dio / Niji Entertainment and BMG have started a ‘DIO live album reissue series’, and one of the pair released today is this “Evil Or Divine ~ Live In New York City“.
Originally released in 2005 and now out of print, the recording has been fully remastered and for the first time fas will own the complete live show experience as if you were there, as this reissue includes the never-before-released version of “Lord Of The Last Day” and an amazing Simon Wright drum solo not on the original release.
I must say the sound quality has been incredibly improved, and it’s nice to have the complete show now.
One of the advantages that Ronnie Dio had on this tour over previous ones is that he had the most technically and musically proficient set of musicians behind him ever. Bassist Jimmy Bain holds…
