ANN WILSON & Tripsitter – Another Door (2023)

Heart’s ANN WILSON and her backing band TRIPSITTER will release a new album, “Another Door“, on September 29. Prior to starting the 2023 tour, Ann Wilson & Tripsitter finished “Another Door”, a record of all-original material co-written by Wilson and some musicians of the finest caliber.
It marks the first time since the ’70s that Ann has written a full-length album collectively with a band. Tripsitter features Tony Lucido (bass), Ryan Wariner (guitars), Sean T. Lane (drums), and Paul Moak (guitars and keyboards). Tom Bukovac (guitars) was also a primary contributor.
Additionally, “Another Door” marks the first time in her career where Ann was the sole lyricist and her presence on a record has never been greater. Ann says, “This is an exciting time in my creative life; so much new and fresh to remind me of why I love my calling!”
It’s curious to see a ‘progressive’ cover art like in good old times when design was an important thing with a LP release, created by StormStudio formerly knowns as Hipgnosis, the legendary team who between 1968 and 1983 created artwork for the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Genesis, and many others.
But on “Another Door” musically Ann Wilson keeps faithful to the classic rock, blues and hard rock we all know from her…

ANN WILSON – Fierce Bliss (2022) HQ

ANN WILSON is one of the premier hard-rock vocalists of all time. Smashing boundaries with longstanding Seattle outfit HEART, she’s enjoyed a decades-long career resulting in more than 35 million albums sold and an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Wilson recorded much of her new, upcoming solo album”Fierce Bliss”, at Fame Studios, Muscle Shoals in Sheffield, Alabama, and enlisted the company of a trio of guitar powerhouses for good measure: co-producer Tom Bukovac, Warren Haynes and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
Haynes, who last worked with Wilson on her Immortal solo release returns for Fierce Bliss, bringing along Gov’t Mule for a pair of original songs: ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Angel’s Blues’. Shepherd accompanies Wilson on two covers: a monstrous version of the Robin Trower classic, ‘Bridge of Sighs’, and an ambitious take on the Eurythmics’ hit, ‘Missionary Man’.
An ethereal duet version of Queen classic ‘Love of My Life’ with Vince Gill is also featured on the album, as well as fantasy art by Roger Dean, renowned for his work designing Yes’ sleeve artwork…

Of course this is an unofficial release but a great opportunity to get together HEART’s collectible material, some of them only appeared on vinyl back in the day and impossible to find, some unreleased.
The package comes numbered – it’s a limited edition – appeared few years ago with copies still available at a decent price tag…

HEART – Brigade [Japan Ltd Deluxe Edition + Bonus CD] Out Of Print

Classic ’80s HEART albums have been requested here in its best sounding release. The group’s tenth studio album Brigade never has been remastered, but due to its quality production and mastering, I think it doesn’t need to.
This Japanese Limited Edition is a pearl, including a Bonus CD and housed in a deluxe red-blood velvet-textured slipcase with a gold stamp.
While released in 1990, the sound & production in “Brigade” is pure Eighties – 1989 in fact.
After a three-year gap between albums, “Brigade” featured the #2 Billboard Hot 100 hit “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You” and reached number three on the U.S. Billboard 200, followed by a successful world tour…

ANN WILSON – Howlen Live + Sawheat 8 + The Daybreaks [2021 EP’s] *Exclusive*

Unique Heart’s voice ANN WILSON not only is intact, but also very busy performing live and releasing solo material. This 2021 she has put out 3 EP’s.
One is titled “Howlen Live“, a 4-track EP documenting his last Summer gigs “Rite of June: An Evening with Ann Wilson” and delivering among the EP awesome versions of ‘Crazy On You’ and ‘Barracuda’. These two intense, emotional performances worth the admission alone.
Sawheat 8” is a 5-song EP that contains 4 previously released singles: the Steve Earle cover “The Revolution Starts Now” as well as the 3 original songs “Tender Heart,” “The Hammer,” and “Black Wing” that were written and recorded in Seattle, 2020. Also on the EP is a great cover of the Alice in Chains song, “Rooster”.
And “The Daybreaks” is a collection of archival songs made with the band that she was in before Heart. The Daybreaks were a short-lived rock group fronted by Wilson between 1969/1970. They performed in various small venues, recorded a handful of songs and released a 7” single in 1969 before she left the band to form Heart with sister Nancy. The songs have been remastered, but including a vintage ‘vinyl noise’ to give ’em an even more retro feel…

HEART – Magazine [Audio Fidelity SACD AFZ 171 Numbered Edition] Out Of Print

Here we have a very interesting choice of album for Audio Fidelity specialists to tackle: “Magazine“, by HEART, remastered by Steve Hoffman and pressed on a wonderful sounding SACD. “Magazine” was certainly commercially successful on its first release in Canada and the U.S., albeit in an unauthorized version that the record company released rather spitefully following fractious attempts by the...

HEART – The Essential Heart 3.0 [Limited Edition 3xCD remastered]

Requested and really worth to have: “The Essential Heart 3.0“: this is the only HEART career-spanning compilation containing the best of the Sony and Capitol recordings together for the first time into a box package, hit after hit fully remastered for optimum sound quality.
There has been an Essential Heart 2-CD, but this ‘3.0 Limited Edition’ includes an extra disc with quite rare material not previously available into any Essential package.
It isn’t cheap (U$D 120 / un-open) but this is a great way to have all the 70s, 80s and 90s hits into one box without having to carry all your Heart CD’s around.
HIGHLY Recommended

ANN WILSON (Heart) – The Ann Wilson Thing! #1, #2 & Live At The Belly Up

Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer, founding member of Heart and all around amazing vocalist ANN WILSON has been releasing solo material under the “The Ann Wilson Thing!” moniker. She’s in the wagon of many artists with EP between few months. Here you have The Ann Wilson Thing # 2, but let’s take a look at #1 and Live At The Belly Up as well, both appeared before.
Ann Wilson is leading a double life these days and she’s enjoying it immensely. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is still touring with Heart (and composing a new album), but for about a year has also been performing solo in support of her EP’s The Ann Wilson Thing!
In fact, Live At The Belly Up was taped during these shows, including songs not appeared into the EP’s.
The interpretive genius of Ann Wilson was writ large during her billowing Kennedy Center rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven, this moment so transcendent that it moved Robert Plant to tears.
