The Outlaws were one of the premiere Southern Rock groups operating during the late 1970s, unleashing a superlative selection of US blues rural-tinged songs laced with lashings of deliciously executed lead guitar from not one… nor two… but THREE lead guitarists.
Aided and abetted by two (!) drummers and featuring guitar wizard Freddie Salem, this Rock Candy release boasts, for the first time, a fully reinstated twelve song quota (previous reissue were edited), including the definitive twenty-one minute version of their epic live centre piece ‘Green Grass And High Tides’…

UFO – No Place To Run [Rock Candy remastered +4] *HQ*

Continuing fulfilling the many requests of UFO‘s classic era albums in the best remastering / reissue versions, now we have here 1980’s “No Place To Run“, the eighth studio album by the British hard rock institution. It was the band’s first to feature Paul Chapman, who replaced Michael Schenker on lead guitar.
Accepted UFO wisdom says the band were at their peak with Schenker in the line-up. But although the records were very good, on the road the guitarist was notoriously erratic. After going AWOL in 1977 on the eve of a major US tour supporting Rush, and walking out for good in November 1978, the band recruited old buddy Paul Chapman, from very good rockers Lone Star.
Hugely talented and reliable, the Welshman was exactly what UFO needed and with him everything went to another level. After a year of touring, Chapman and the band were revitalized and ready to make ”No Place To Run” – which with Schenker or not, is one of UFO’s best LP’s.
Few know that “No Place To Run” has been remastered by Rock Candy Records : the version we feature here including 4 bonus tracks.

DERRINGER – Sweet Evil [Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded] *Exclusive*

Few days ago we featured ‘The Complete Blue Sky Albums 1976-1978 [HNE 5-CD Box Set remastered]’, including all the LP’s from Rick Derringer’s own band DERRINGER. Among these there’s their 2nd album ”Sweet Evil” (1977), which is the more ‘commercial & catchy’ and sports a bigger production (Jack Douglas of Aerosmith / Cheap Trick is behind the boards).
Well, the LP has been remastered by Rock Candy specialists too, and some of you asked for their version. As we never featured ”Sweet Evil [Rock Candy remastered & Reloaded]” before, here you have it to compare – and complete your Rock Candy collection as well.

CHARLIE – Good Morning America [Rock Candy remastered]

“Good Morning America” by CHARLIE has been reissued by Rock Candy, and this is the first proper remaster made on this, one of the most underrated AOR albums from the early ’80s.
Charlie were actually key components of the second half of the seventies in the British melodic rock scene, trying to gain a foot hold at the height of punk rock during those years. The band released five albums that went quite unnoticed in UK, however, in the USA things were decidedly different as their precise style of AOR gained them significant traction on FM radio, which resulted in the band working almost exclusively for that market.
And this is clearly evident on Charlie’s sixth album “Good Morning America”, where the guys firmly decided to go for an American sound. By the time the Eighties had come around…

AVIARY – Aviary [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] out of print

As requested, here’s a favorite of us: the Rock Candy Records remastered & reloaded reissue of AVIARY self-titled album “Aviary”. While still listed at the label’s website, the CD is out of print.
In a few words, Aviary is one of the greatest AOR Pomp-Rock bands of all time, and this album, a Classic.
Of all the great Pomp acts that flourished during the late ’70s, perhaps none can rival Aviary in terms of ‘pomposity’. And here we can include the likes of Styx, Kansas, Trillion, Angel and Queen, but this five-piece from America called Aviary were, in many ways, the kings of the genre.
Grandiose, bombastic, pompous indeed, and completely impervious to fashion, the unique songwriting talent of vocalist Brad Love and the musical skills he and his fellow band members brought to this album still make it a very special work of beauty.
And a pillar in Pomp Rock history. A must in your collection…

ENUFF Z’NUFF – Strength [Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded +2]

Rock Candy Records has ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ this major label release of ENUFF Z’NUFF, “Strength“, a really enjoyable piece of melodic hard rock music and one of the band’s best.
“Strength”, the band’s eagerly expected sophomore album, was another astounding piece of work. Recorded in 1991, the band threw everything and the kitchen sink into their songs, producing a record that, for many, actually eclipsed their excellent debut.
It was an album that showed maturity and depth, without losing the essence of their sound; a compelling mash-up of the Bon Jovi and Cheap Trick. All songs show a band in songwriting heaven, driven to extraordinary highs by Donnie Vie’s sensational and plaintiff voice. LYNCH MOB – Lynch Mob [Rock Candy Remastered +2] (2021) HQ 0dayrox Exclusive

Here’s in exclusive the Rock Candy remastered treatment on LYNCH MOB‘s second, self-titled album “Lynch Mob“, including bonus tracks. Curiously, the two bonus tracks aren’t listed in the CD back cover. Both are the original Japanese edition bonuses.
Lynch Mob’s debut album Wicked Sensation certainly turned a few heads. All was shaping up well for album #2 but there were changes afoot. Vocalist Oni Logan had stepped away from the project leaving the spot open for another fine blues-based howler. Casting around for a suitable replacement, the band identified an excellent, but relatively unknown, replacement by the name of Robert Mason.
This time around the band opted to dispense with the services of their previous producer and turn to Keith Olsen instead. Keith’s track record was stellar; having produced massive hit records for Whitesnake and the Scorpions among many others.
It also paved the way for a slight shift in direction from their core blues rock style to a far more malleable and melodic hard rock sound, something that optimized Mason’s voice perfectly.

Many of you asked for the Rock Candy Records remastering of DANGER DANGER first album “Danger Danger” in maximum quality. In terms of sound this “Danger Danger [Rock Candy remastered +5]” reissue is bright and punchy with great dynamics for modern CD players, but apart from that includes as bonus the complete ‘Down and Dirty Live‘ EP remastered for the first time.
New York, New York, says the famous song. So good they named it twice. Well, if that sort of shtick was good enough for ol’ Blue eyes then it was certainly good enough for late ’80s New York area melodic hard rockers Danger Danger whose songs ‘Naughty, Naughty’ and ‘Bang Bang’ helped to emphasize the point perfectly.
Fashioning memorable songs with firebrand riffs, Danger Danger were signed by the Imagine label (a division of Epic Records, headed by Industry legend Lennie Petze) and put into the studio with Lance Quin (Bon Jovi, Lita Ford). The band’s self titled debut album “Danger Danger” instantly produced a hit single with the MTV friendly ‘Naughty Naughty’, a song that defined the band’s appeal as one of the best high-energy melodic rock bands of the era…

TRILLION – Trillion [Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded]

Considered by many specialists as the greatest Pomp AOR album of all time, TRILLION self-titled debut album “Trillion” is without a doubt one to have in your collection. ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ by Rock Candy Records, Trillion sounds better then never.
The late Seventies / Early Eighties American music scene was a veritable breeding ground for melodically infused hard rock. However, in many ways, it was a sound built principally on British roots including clearly identifiable stimulation from later period Beatles to the proto-progressive rock movement dominated by Yes, Genesis and Camel to name but a few.
It was this pre-occupation with all things British that gave rise to a brilliantly dynamic style that relied equally on adroit arrangements as it did on melody and accessibility.

Without a doubt, Trillion was one of the greatest Pomp Rock acts to emerge from the US early ’80s scene. Signed to industry powerhouse Epic Records, the Chicago-based quintet Trillion made major inroads with their self-titled debut album, but it wasn’t until the release of this, their second album “Clear Approach” that matters reached a musical crescendo.
With the addition of new – and terrific – vocalist Thom Griffin, and an astounding selection of highly melodic songs, the band hit a level of sophistication and emotion that few have ever matched in the Pomp AOR genre…

STAN BUSH – Stan Bush (1st album) [Rock Candy 24-bit remaster]

STAN BUSH self-titled debut LP “Stan Bush” garnered healthy critical acclaim and cemented Bush’s reputation as one of the top class songwriter of ’80s Melodic Rock / AOR music.
With a crisp production by Kevin Beamish (REO Speedwagon, Y&T), some of the best session musicians from the L.A. scene like Alan Pasqua, Mike Baird or Leland Sklar, and packed with terrific songs, this is one of best debut albums from the early Eighties American Melodic Rock / AOR era.
It should be noted that Bush & management could have hired top session six-string players as well, but Stan decided to record every guitar heard on this recording. Apart from his smooth vocals and excellent songwriting abilities, Stan Bush owns a distinctive guitar style as well.

As requested, here’s simply one of the greatest AOR records ever made… STAN BUSH & BARRAGE self-titled album “Stan Bush & Barrage”.
If you are a true fan of the genre, all the blabbermouth below is unnecessary… you only need to know that Rock Candy specialists have reissued this absolute 1987 classic remastered in all its glory.
Have you noticed that there are only a few albums from the ’80s that sound dated nowadays? The reason is simple: at the time big record labels always hired famed (and expensive) producers. In the case of Stan Bush, it was no one else than Kevin Beamish (REO Speedwagon, Y&T) who produced his first album, and while at the time it didn’t sold as much as expected, garnered healthy critical acclaim and cemented Bush’s reputation as top class songwriter.
In 1987 Stan signed to the Scotti Brothers label but this time under the handle of Stan Bush & Barrage, a ruse designed to toughen up his image and present a sharper, band identity to the record buying public.
Produced by veteran Richie Wise (Kiss) and utilising a number of key session players (dubbed Barrage) including members of Black Rose, Foreigner and John Parr and Rick Springfield’s band, the music was…

DANNY JOE BROWN and The Danny Joe Brown Band [Rock Candy remastered]

One of the most puzzling moves in the history of Southern Rock occurred when vocalist Danny Joe Brown left MOLLY HATCHET at the top of their huge late Seventies success. He formed THE DANNY JOE BROWN BAND and released the group’s self-titled debut, finely remastered by Rock Candy Records.
Shortly before Brown abandon Molly Hatchet, the group recorded one of the genre’s definitive albums, but Brown wanted his own career. Hence, this album is of interest to Southern Rock / bluesy hard rock fans because it should come as no surprise that it sounds like Molly Hatchet around that era – the early ’80s.
Like Molly Hatchet, Brown’s band also featured a three-guitar attack, courtesy of Bobby Ingram, Steve Wheeler and Kenny McVay.
A couple of extra musical touches support Brown’s throaty growl: slide guitar riffing by Ingram and Wheeler, keyboard accents by John Galvin and harmony vocals that certainly must have been encouraged by producer / engineer Glyn Johns, a legend who’d worked with The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eagles and Eric Clapton…

Fiona’s self-titled debut album certainly introduced a sensational new talent to the world of femme fronted rock. Her striking looks and gilded vocals made for a fascinating combination, giving her an edge comparable to the anthemic styles of Pat Benatar, Patty Smyth and Heart.
The debut album made a sure footed impact, nicely setting up her next long playing foray.
For “Beyond The Pale”, Atlantic Records teamed her up with fast rising production talent Beau Hill, a man who made waves producing hard rock act Ratt. Of Irish origin, Fiona was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey after her parents moved from Dublin to the United States. At school, when she was a teenager, even when she was offered a grant to attend the University School of Drama in New York, she chose a musical career instead.
