L.A. GUNS – Checkered Past (2021)

Sunset Strip legends L.A. GUNS are ready to release of their new studio album, “Checkered Past“, via Frontiers Music. Written and recorded while the world was still in the grips of the Covid-19 pandemic, the new studio album sees Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, and company continuing with the darker lyrical tone of the preceding studio albums while incorporating their classic hard rock influences into the mix.
Heavier songs are mixed with bluesier, boogie inducing tracks and dark, introspective ballads, often harkening back to the first three albums the band made, but also pushing the band forward.
When fans absorb the album as a whole, they’ll see that the tracklisting is divided up into ‘sets’ or ‘suites’, where a sonic style is explored across multiple songs before moving on to the next, making for a very interesting listening experience…

L.A. GUNS – L.A. Guns [Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded]

These are among the most requested albums to be featured here; the two first releases by L.A. GUNSRemastered & Reloaded‘ by Rock Candy Records. Both are great, killer hard rock plates, but this, L.A. Guns self-titled debut is regarded by many as their best, without a doubt one of the best representations from the Sunset Strip Californian ’80s Hard Rock.
If you’re looking for the Godfather of the early Eighties L.A. hard rock scene, then guitarist Tracii Guns is your man. A hustler, a human dynamo and a hugely talented band leader, Tracii broad-shouldered his way onto the Hollywood Strip with a succession of fledgling acts – including Hollywood Rose, a band that evolved into the legendary Guns N’ Roses…

L.A. GUNS – Cocked & Loaded Live (2021)

As everyone knows at this point, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a difficult blow to the entire live music business. While they had just commenced work on an upcoming new studio album, in November 2020, L.A. GUNS wanted to get together and do one of the things they love most, which is play a ‘live’ show. The band announced a special gig at the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas that would celebrate the 31st anniversary of their beloved album, “Cocked and Loaded”.
L.A. Guns, aka Phil Lewis, Tracii Guns, Ace Von Johnson, Johnny Martin, and Scotty Coogan, thus performed a one of a kind show which was streamed worldwide to fans in the comfort of their own homes, now being released tomorrow by Frontiers Music; “Cocked & Loaded Live“.
The band sounds great bearing in mind the months of inactivity that preceded it. So if you’re looking for a live version of that great album look no further…

L.A. GUNS – Live! Vampires [Music On CD reissue / first time outside Japan] *EXCLUSIVE*

Music On CD has done a very interesting reissue, L.A. GUNS first live album “Live! Vampires“, previously only released in Japan back in 1992.
All tracks were recorded in August 1991 at two shows in the United States; Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, California, and unken Gardens in San Antonio, Texas. The disc also includes two studio tracks, produced by the band’s album Hollywood Vampires recording engineer Michael James Jackson.
While L.A. Guns later released some live albums, in our opinion ”Live! Vampires” is the best L.A. Guns live release, as it captures the band back in their heyday, right before grunge took over and changed the music industry.
It’s a collectible that really worth to own, and really rocks.

L.A. GUNS – Cocked & Loaded [Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded]

These are among the most requested albums to be featured here; the two first releases by L.A. GUNS in remastered form. Both are great, killer hard rock plates, but this “Cocked & Loaded” (their second) was the band’s most important commercial success. This Rock Candy Records remastered version provide a clearer definition, and includes a bonus track.
It was an unlikely combination; an L.A. based band pivotal to the upsurge in mid-Eighties glam based hard rock but fronted by London born vocalist Phil Lewis, previously of Girl, one of the decade most lauded UK outfits. Amazingly, the combination was highly combustible confirmed by the band’s self titled debut album crashing into the US charts and going on to sell over half a million units.
Naturally all eyes were on the band’s second album, “Cocked And Loaded”, recorded in Los Angeles with seasoned producers Tom Werman (Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Cheap Trick) alongside…

L.A. GUNS – L.A. Guns +6 [Bad Reputation digitally remastered] *EXCLUSIVE*

As requested, here’s the never seen Bad Reputation Records remastered reissue of L.A. GUNS‘ iconic first album in their ‘Collector Series / Remastered with Bonus‘ reissue series, including 6 bonus tracks.
The songs from “L.A. Guns” self titled debut were drawn from the band’s formative years, hot , dirty rock n’ roll with all the Sunset Strip magic. Songwriting credits were listed for all band members, as well as former lead vocalist Paul Black.
British Phil Lewis – who had originally sang in the cult band Girl that also featured Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen – replaced former Black months before the recording of the album. And results were great.

L.A. GUNS – Hollywood Vampires [Bad Reputation remaster +5 bonus tracks]

French reissue label Bad Reputation has been doing a great job releasing ‘Collector Series / Remastered with Bonus‘, with the main attraction being the addition of bonus tracks or bonus disc, making these reissues the ‘definitive expanded versions’. In a Rock Candy Records fashion, these are official remasters in arrangement with the original recording companies.
Their own remastered version of “Hollywood Vampires“, for many the best L.A. GUNS album, comes with 5 bonus tracks.
“Hollywood Vampires” is one of the most complete L.A. GUNS albums, presenting various shades of the band and…

Steve Riley’s version of L.A. GUNS will release its debut album, “Renegades“, on November 13 via Golden Robot Records. Riley’s version of L.A. GUNS is not to be confused with the band led by guitarist Tracii Guns and vocalist Phil Lewis, which issued two well-received albums, “The Missing Peace” and “The Devil You Know”, plus the live release “Made In Milan”, under the L.A. GUNS name over the last three years.
Riley is joined in his version of the group by Orlando, Florida-based guitarist/vocalist Kurt Frohlich, bassist Kelly Nickels (a member of L.A. GUNS’ “classic” incarnation) and guitarist Scott Griffin (who played bass for the band from 2007 until 2009, and then again from 2011 to 2014).
