TNT – Intuition [Rock Candy remastered] (2022) HQ *only at 0dayrox*

Specialists at Rock Candy Records have done their own remaster on one of the greatest AOR / melodic hard rock albums from the ’80s; the awesome “Intuition” from Norwegians TNT.
Coming off the extraordinary ‘Tell No Tales’ which mixed edgy hard rockers with melodious gems, “Intuition” is a pure Scandi AOR / pop metal Heaven. Pure 1989’s I’d say. Every track verses are trademark TNT awesomeness, everyone firing away nicely and with purpose, while every chorus is to die for.
Whilst ”Intuition” hit the spot creatively, the commercial impact of the album faltered and despite gallant headline touring plans in the US and Japan, momentum wasn’t sufficient to propel the band to a higher level of achievement. Nonetheless, TNT’s legacy was now cast in stone and, not surprisingly, the band’s reputation has continued to grow and resonate louder than ever.
“Intuition” always sounded fantastic even in its original edition. However this Rock Candy remastered reissue provides an extra brilliance plus more bass presence, dynamic range, and an impressive punch. It will blow your speakers.

ARMORED SAINT – Delirious Nomad [Rock Candy remastered +2] HQ

Metal Blade Records has just reissued ARMORED SAINT‘s second full length album “Delirious Nomad” in its original, regular version. However, we recommend this Rock Candy Records ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ release, not only sporting a fantastic sound quality but also 2 extra tracks.
After their celebrated debut LP, for second album “Delirious Nomad” the band and the label enlisted the help of seasoned producer Max Norman (Ozzy Osbourne, Y&T) to provide a polished, crisp sound.
Since opener ‘Long Before I Die’ you can tell this second album is certainly a more refined, more confident effort than its predecessor, with elaborated, polished songwriting. Standouts like ‘Over the Edge’,”For the Sake of Heaviness’ and ‘In the Hole’ are meticulous studio creations which proved the band’s songwriting talents were indeed improving from strength to strength…

IAN THOMAS Band – Still Here [Rock Candy Remastered] (2021) HQ *only at 0dayrox*

As requested here’s the Rock Candy ‘remastered & reloaded‘ job on IAN THOMAS Band album “Still Here“. Thomas is a man with a long history of recording in his native Canada, this being his fifth album, and although he hadn’t made significant head way sales wise at this point his reputation had grown considerably attracting great reviews and he was playing to very enthusiastic crowds.
Indeed, regarded as one of the best singer / songwriter from Canada, for this album Thomas changed moniker to ‘Ian Thomas Band’, but still retaining his classic musicality and smooth FM radio sound with Americanized Westcoast sounds and AOR breeze.
“Still Here” produced two Canadian single hits with the melodic ‘Coming Home’ and one of our favorite Thomas song ever, the atmospheric ‘I Really Love You’, not exactly a love song but his veiled love/hate relationship with the music business.
This Rock Candy remaster is more ‘vital’ than the previously featured at 0dayrox (Wounded Bird Records), a more modern treatment respecting the original sound…

ARMORED SAINT – March Of The Saint [Rock Candy remastered +3] HQ

Metal Blade Records has just reissued ARMORED SAINT full length debut album “March Of The Saint” in its original, regular version. However, we recommend this Rock Candy Records ‘Remastered & Reloaded’ release, not only sporting a fantastic sound quality but also 3 extra tracks.
One of the most commercial melodic metal albums appeared in the first half of the ’80s is without a doubt “March Of The Saint“, the debut LP by American five-piece ARMORED SAINT. Formed in Los Angeles in the early ’80s, Armored Saint were part of an explosive US West Coast metal scene that included the likes of Dokken, Malice, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue and Metallica.
By 1984 they were signed up to a major (Chrysalis) and recorded their debut album with producer Michael James Jackson, fresh from working with a rejuvenated Kiss. The result was “March Of The Saint” – hailed by Kerrang! magazine as having ‘more balls than a snooker marathon’, and generally regarded as one of the era’s finest metal releases…

HARLEQUIN – Love Crimes [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] HQ

Presented at 0dayrox when released some time ago, here’s a re-vamp as requested by many.
Winnipeg’s prodigal sons HARLEQUIN were a fine example of an act that benefited from what was called ‘CanCon’ : Canadian Content, a local Commission that required radio and television broadcasters must air a certain percentage of content at least partly written, produced, presented or otherwise contributed to by persons from Canada.
It didn’t hurt either that Harlequin were ‘accidently’ signed to the giant, international CBS corporation, following the absorption of an independent production company that the band had signed to earlier in their career.
Love Crimes” was the second (but first on a major label) album from the band, produced by Jack ‘Aerosmith’ Douglas in New York at the famed Record Plant Studios.
It was an album achieving Platinum status in Canada, making inroads into the US where the band played shows with the likes of Survivor, Triumph and John Waite…

HARLEQUIN – One False Move [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

Presented on 0dayrox when released some time ago, here’s a re-vamp as requested by many.
For a long time Canada was the most productive Rock Nation on the planet, and HARLEQUIN one of the best bands of the bunch. “One False Move” is their third outing from back in 1982 following on from the platinum selling ‘Love Crimes’ which was also remastered by Rock Candy not so long ago.
With “One False Move”, Winnipeg’s finest band delivered aan even more solid effort, lyrically and musically. The usually prolific singer George Belanger took a back seat on this one to the emerging songwriting talents of guitarist Glen Willows, who as well as penning the buoyant opener “I Did It For Love” and the hypnotic “Superstitious Feeling” – the album’s two big hits – also co-wrote the other eight songs as well…

MICHAEL WHITE – Michael White [Rock Candy remastered]

As requested, here’s the Rock Candy Records has ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ reissue of MICHAEL WHITE self-titled effort from 1987, for years impossible to find on any format and now available on CD for the first time.
American born MICHAEL WHITE started his career at the end of the Seventies as member of underground L.A. bands such as ‘The Boys’ (alongside pre-DOKKEN George Lynch and Mick Brown), ‘L.A. Rocks’ with W.A.S.P.’s Randy Piper, and in Nikki Sixx’s pre-Motley ‘London’.
Looking for a more classic sound Michael formed ‘The White’, his own band. Mixing originals with LED ZEPPELIN covers, the group toured extensively throughout North America.
Interestingly, Michael’s stab at solo success included an unexpectedly successful entrée into the business. Encouraged by Robert Plant himself, White submitted demos to Atlantic Records that were eventually sanctioned by the most important executive at the label, namely founder, and the man who originally signed Zeppelin, Ahmet Ertegun.
“Michael White” is a very good album mixing classic bluesy hard rock from the British school and ’80s American radio-ready Melodic Rock. It’s some kind of a mix between KINGDOM COME, STONE FURY, GREAT WHITE, WHITESNAKE, etc. including finely crafted songs…

ICON – Icon [Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded] (2022) HQ *full*

Just ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ by Rock Candy Records specialists, the first, self-titled album from ’80s American rockers ICON is a must have in your collection. This album combines like few sharp guitar riffs with melody, including superb vocals and terrific choruses.
In the early ’80s the metal scene was exploding in virtually every territory, not least of all in North America where artists such as Quiet Riot, Dio and Def Leppard were scoring big successes. It was no surprise then to find that the scene was awash with new acts eager to muscle in on this pot of gold. Icon, from Phoenix, Arizona, was one such band, with all the moves and grooves to make a play for stardom, and for a short while they looked set to be the next big thing.

TOMMY SHAW – Ambition [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] HQ full *only at 0dayrox*

If one album which really represents the true Melodic Rock / AOR sound of the ’80s deserved to be reissued that is “Ambition“, TOMMY SHAW‘s third album from 1987, and Rock Candy specialists have done a terrific job with it, perhaps the best remastering job ever from this excellent British reissue label.
“Ambition” was Tommy’s third solo album and not only is regarded as his best, but also one of the best AOR-Rock records in history. Teaming up with British producer Terry Thomas – former leader and creative heart of cult AOR band Charlie – the disc was recorded in London with the musical assistance by a number of top notch session players.
Featuring some incredible vocal performances, recorded with pinpoint accuracy and loaded with ten truly great tracks (mostly co-written with Thomas), “Ambition” is a startling example of pumping Melodic Rock with lashings of power & passion, and delicate, super-polished AOR waves.
This Rock Candy remaster of Tommy Shaw’s “Ambition” is awesome, full of rich enhanced frequencies and balanced output. If you own the original edition, forget it, this one blows the previous out of the water.
A Classic Melodic Rock / AOR album now sounding better than ever…

TNT – Tell No Tales [Rock Candy remastered] (2022) HQ full

Specialists at Rock Candy Records have done their own remaster on one of the greatest AOR / melodic hard rock albums from the ’80s; the awesome “Tell No Tales” from Norwegians TNT. On ”Tell No Tales” TNT mixed like few did edgy hard rockers with melodious gems to die for.
If I could compare how TNT sounds here, it would have to be Europe’s Out Of This World era (only that “Tell No Tales” appeared earlier) mixed with all the American charm from the second half of the ’80s. It has the emotional feel of Europe, yet also has the fun side of US melodic hard / glam which go together perfectly.
This is the first time “Tell No Tales” is being officially, properly remastered – there was a good Japanese one but to grace a SHM-CD reissue – on this Rock Candy remastering the sound quality is impressive, believe me. The guitars explode in your face like never before, and everything is clearer & louder.

LOVERBOY – Lovin’ Every Minute Of It [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] (2021) HQ *0dayrox Exclusive*

Continuing their reissue of essential LOVERBOY ’80s albums, Rock Candy Records disd their remastered & reloaded treatment to ”Lovin’ Every Minute Of It”. This well respected five piece Canadian band had struck gold with their debut release in both their home country and the USA, giving them a foothold that showed no signs of eroding.
It was quite a Cinderella story made even more powerful by the fact the band maintained the same line-up, but this time switching from their original studio team to British producer ‘Colonel’ Tom Allom (Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Krokus) still though opting to record in Vancouver at Little Mountain studio.
Paying meticulous attention to detail and choice of material, they had numerous well known contributions including Bryan Adams & Jim Vallance, Jonathan Cain, and, not least of all, Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange who penned the title track, a standout song that kept their commercial appeal right at the front of the public’s interest.
This Rock Candy remaster is the best ever done on this wonderful album, ‘airy’, with all instruments clearly heard…

ICON – Night Of The Crime [Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded]

Night Of The Crime“, the second album from American outfit ICON is regarded as one of the greatest Melodic Hard Rock / AOR albums of all time. This Rock Candy Records digitally remastered reissue is the one to get: fuller, bigger.
Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, ICON burst into the American hard rock scene in 1984 with a surprisingly mature self-titled debut, compared to Dokken, Quiet Riot and alike. By 1985, the genre was morphing to a more melodic, AOR, polished sound and ICON and the label decided to go in this direction, so the approach for second album was completely different.
They joined talented AOR songwriter Bob Halligan Jr. to pen half the songs, and legendary Eddie Kramer produced, plus genius Ron Nevison mixed the whole thing resulting in a fan-damn-tastic piece of mid-80s AOR / Melodic Hard.
“Night Of The Crime” comprises like few in one single disc all these ’80s rock musical styles with class, ranging from punchy melodic hard rockers to heavenly AOR numbers…

EUROPE – The Final Countdown [Rock Candy remastered +6]

As requested many times, here’s this classic album in all its glory. Finally Rock Candy specialists did their own remastered version of EUROPE‘s classic “The Final Countdown”. It includes 6 bonus tracks: the live versions of title track, ‘Danger On The Track (Live)’ and ‘Carrie (Live)’, plus the single B-sides ‘Seven Doors Hotel (1986 Version)’ & ‘On Broken Wings’, and what makes this reissue unique is the addition of the rare Remix of ‘Rock The Night’ – also a B-side but previously unavailable on CD.
This Rock Candy remaster is powerful, more punchy than the previously available. In my opinion, tracks like ‘Cherokee’ or ‘On The Loose’ are benefited by this remaster, with a more ‘edgy’ guitar attack.
I doubt there’s a master tape of ‘Rock The Night (Remix)’, but the sound quality obtained for this reissue is darn good. A rarity and a cool one, a pretty different version….

LILLIAN AXE – Lillian Axe [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded]

Two of the most underrated – but widely respected – releases of the late ‘80s were undoubtedly the first pair of albums by New Orleans-based hard rock outfit LILLIAN AXE. Now Rock Candy Records have provided their ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ treatment to them shaped from 24 BIT digital technology.
The band’s self-titled debut, 1988’s “Lillian Axe” is just a killer rockin’ record, and has been immensely benefited by this fresh remaster.
The late ’80s were a golden time for hard rock, especially in North America. Bands were getting signed by the bucket load. Radio and MTV was full of the sound of a musical revolution whilst concert halls were packed to the rafters with fans who just couldn’t get enough of wild guitars, wailing vocals and shout-it-out-loud songs.
On paper, Lillian Axe had everything going for them – hooks, looks and enough energy to power a nation…

LILLIAN AXE – Love + War [Rock Candy remastered & reloaded] *Exclusive*

Two of the most underrated – but widely respected – releases from the late ‘80s were undoubtedly the first pair of albums by New Orleans-based hard rock outfit LILLIAN AXE. Now Rock Candy Records have provided their ‘Remastered & Reloaded‘ treatment to them shaped from 24 BIT digital technology. “Love + War” was the band’s sophomore release, clearly surpassing the already great quality of the rocking debut.
Lillian Axe – which been led since their inception in 1983 by guitarist Steve Blaze – formed in New Orleans, and establishing themselves as local heroes the band went through a variety of line ups, before settling on the Lillian Axe moniker.
Spotted by RATT’s manager Marshall Berle, the band signed a recording deal with MCA and released their self-titled debut in 1988…
