SAGA – Steel Umbrellas +1 (2021 Edition remastered) *EXCLUSIVE* / HQ

We have been featuring here the Canadian legends SAGA reissue series started in 2021 with fresh remastered versions. This newest release of “Steel Umbrellas +1 (2021 Edition remastered)” featured in exclusive at 0dayrox includes a bonus track.
Over 40 years have passed since melodic prog-rock band SAGA released their self-titled debut album. Since then, they have been an exceptional musical phenomenon and toured the globe various times — all the while selling over 10 million albums worldwide.
Their sonic trademarks – synthesizer harmonies, keyboard-guitar riffs, melodic arrangements, and the charismatic vocals of frontman Michael Sadler – have made Saga an influential rock act of the modern era.
Celebrating the band’s four-decade legacy earMUSIC continues with the band’s reissue series exquisitely remastered and these “must own” releases will be welcome additions to the musical libraries of the Saga faithful.
The criminally underrated “Steel Umbrellas” is best known for featuring a more commercial side of the band. Well, occurs this material was originally composed as a soundtrack for a TV series called ‘Cobra’, which needed an ’80s feel. Mixed by Mike Ging (Toto, Michael Jackson, Nazareth) in L.A., “Steel Umbrellas” takes you straight back to a pure glossy Eighties sound. Production is huge, bombastic, very Eighties indeed.

WORLD TRADE – S/T [Rock Candy Remastered] (2023) HQ *0dayrox Exclusive*

Now we’re presenting in exclusive the Rock Candy Records remastered & reloaded reissue of WORLD TRADE 1989’s self-titled album “World Trade“. The improvement in sound is really noticeable, with a much more defined low end.
When World Trade first appeared on the scene the general view was that they would signal a new flood of progressive rock bands into the scene, one that would see them replacing the old guard with fresh blood. Indeed, immediate comparisons were made to Yes’s late ’80s golden period of hi-tech sheen and powerful production.
Helmed by guitarist Bruce Gowdy (Stone Fury, Unruly Child, Glenn Hughes) and bassist/vocalist Billy Sherwood (now in YES, Arc of Life) the album was produced with pin point accuracy by Keith Olsen (Whitesnake, Heart, Foreigner) and features a bright selection of tracks that conjure up comparisons to Yes’s ‘90125’ and ‘Big Generator’ records.
Songs such as ‘The Moment Is Here’, ‘Life Time’, ‘Fight To Win’ and ‘Can’t Let You Go’ laid down a bedrock of faultless catchy progressive rock that still ring with breathtaking clarity.

THIN LIZZY – Life/Live [2xSHM-CD 40th Anniversary remastered] (2023) HQ *Exclusive*

Universal Music has released a 40th Anniversary reissue of THIN LIZZY album ‘Life’ (subtitled Live, and labelled Life/Live on the original vinyl LP editions) remastered from the best sources available.
This double album was recorded during their farewell tour in 1983, principally at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, UK. Phil Lynott had felt reluctantly that it was time to disband the group after the 1983 tour and to mark the occasion, former Thin Lizzy guitarists Eric Bell (1969–73), Brian Robertson (1974–78) and Gary Moore (1974, 1977 and 1978–79) joined the band on stage at the end of these gigs to do some numbers. This was called “The All-Star Jam”.
During the performance of “The Rocker”, all of the guitarists played at the same time (Moore, John Sykes, Scott Gorham, Robertson and Bell), making a total of eight members on stage performing at once (including keyboard player Darren Wharton, later founder of AOR band Dare).
This is the Japanese release of this Life/Live 40th Anniversary release on a double SHM-CD pack.

220 VOLT – Eye To Eye (1988) [digitally remastered +2]

Swedes 220 VOLT released three quite good albums at the beginning of the ’80s with a classic Euro metal sound similar to the first Europe. But halfway the decade their record label saw a strong potential in 220 Volt to be launched on the prosperous American market. The band decided to re-work their sound into a marvelous, Scandinavian-style Melodic Hard Rock.
Eye To Eye” was the result, and believe me, if you never heard this album you’re missing something great. This remastered reissue is wonderful, including 2 bonus.
With the extremely talented Max Norman (Ozzy, Coney Hatch, Y&T) producing, mixing and engineering, 220 Volt obtained a punchy, glossy, awesome polished sound ready to conquer the world.
Released in Europe in 1988 “Eye To Eye” was pretty successful, with its consequent US / Canada edition the following year (actually there were few months in between) and different artwork…

220 VOLT – Two Hundred Twenty Volt [Music On CD reissue / first time on CD]

Pioneers of ’80s Swedish metal / hard rock, 220 VOLT is considered one of the essential acts for the genre’s develop in Scandinavia. Their self titled debut album “220 Volt” – also known as Two Hundred Twenty Volt – curiously never was officially released on CD, except in Japan during the Nineties.
Fortunately excellent Dutch label Music On CD finally made justice to this album releasing it few weeks ago for the first time on CD in Europe.
While this release of “Two Hundred Twenty Volt” hasn’t been remastered, the new digital transfer technique – which augment the signal / Dynamic Range without distortion – makes wonders here. The album comes full out of the speakers, much more defined than the previously only Japan official CD press…

TARGET (Jimi Jamison) – In Range [The Lost Album]

Featuring legendary Jimi Jamison (Cobra / Survivor) on vocals, US quintet from Memphis, TARGET released two albums on A&M (‘Target and Captured’). However, it has come to light that a third album was recorded, entitled ‘In Range‘, but never released at the time.
Escape Music has managed to get hold of the “In Range” tapes, and releasing it in a remastered form. Note that the promo versions circulating missed the bonus track ‘Echo Tango’. This is the full CD…

RETURN – V (AOR Heaven Digitally Remastered 2020)

AOR Heaven Records ordered the remaster of “V“ (Five), probably the best album of Norwegian melodic rockers RETURN, featured here in exclusive at 0dayrox.
The record sounds way ‘more international’ than Return’s first four efforts, as it successfully combines the typical American stadium rock sound with a little bit of British hard in the vein of Whitesnake, and the band’s signature Scandinavian AOR style.
Produced by expert Ole Evenrude and including backing vocals by Jorn Lande, this is a must listen for all Melodic Rock / AOR fans.
Strictly limited to 1000 copies…

SAGA – Pleasure and the Pain (Remastered 2021 +1) *Exclusive*

Over 40 years have passed since Canadian melodic prog-rock band SAGA released their self-titled debut album.
In 2021, earMUSIC celebrated the band’s four-decade legacy launching a reissue series exquisitely remastered and these “must own” releases will be welcome additions to the musical libraries of the Saga faithful.
“Pleasure and the Pain” is the band’s twelfth studio album, the first and only to feature Glen Sobel on drums. There was a previous remestered reissue of “Pleasure and the Pain” but the band wasn’t happy with the saturated sound of it.
Pleasure and the Pain (Remastered 2021 +1)” sounds much more comfortable, clean, preserving harmonics…

The album is titled “Lost UK Jewels Vol.25: Secrets” and contains 10 tracks that the band recorded in the 1987-1991 time frame. This is quite special, as early songs feature male vocals, while latter stuff is female-fronted.

SOUTHGANG – ‘Tainted Angel’ [Bad Reputation remastered] + Ltd bonus CD ‘Live In Heaven’ (2022) HQ *Exclusive*

Now we feature in exclusive the Bad Reputation Records reissue – remastered for the first time – of SOUTHGANG first album “Tainted Angel” from 1991. With the first 300 orders, Bad Reputation Records gave for free a bonus CD, “Live In Heaven ’91“, originally sold at the band’s shows only. This double-CD package is already sold out.
Formed in Rome, Georgia, in 1988 and originally going by the name Byte The Bullet, it wasn’t long before Jesse Harte (vocals), Butch Walker (guitar), Jayce Fincher (bass) and drummer Mitch McLee headed to the bright lights of L.A.’s Sunset Strip. Within a year of their arrival the band was headlining, garnering major label interest and making the decision to change their moniker from Byte The Bullet to Southgang.
Southgang had been taken under the wing of Desmond Child (after being introduced by Ratt), the legendary 80s song doctor consequently contributing a great deal to the group’s songwriting.
Hence, “Tainted Angel” sounds similar in many respects to Firehouse, Slaughter, Warrant, etc, but with some chief differences – a talent for merging various Hard Rock styles and grooves, then creating intriguing song arrangements and catchy choruses, and finally employing slick studio wankery and trickery for added spice and zest.
”Tainted Angel” is a slick, polished hair metal album plus a bluesy swagger with impressive vocals courtesy of Jesse Harte. This fresh remaster sounds incredible.
